This seems daft to me. Surely it would be simpler to finish the FA cup as a mini comp after the league season is done?

Or just scrap it for a year.

No need to scrap it given how much has gone into it up to this point.
I assume all league games will stop while cup games are played then so as not to have teams piling up postponements again.

TV Money.
If Sky had exclusive rights to the FA Cup they would probably have started with it as a taster.

Just void all cup competitions.
Will be hard enough getting the league done without p155ing about with the leftovers.

Hopefully they will prioritize the World's oldest cup competition.
Only 7 games and it's finished.

The FA Cup was there first, just void the league.

Can you imagine the trophy presentation to an empty stadium?
++
Well it's already done to a half empty stadium these days.
Shame that. Don't know when it started that the losing fans in a FA Cup final left the ground immediately.
I have attended c.13 FA Cup finals involving Man United (including replays) in my time and win or lose both sets of fans behind each goal used to stayed to watch the presentation and see the Cup in the lap of honour But in more recent times the losing fans stopped bothering to stay in the ground for the presentations and now make a sharp exit.
