Anthony Jushua being a bit racist?

Just seen a video of him at a BLM demonstration in Watford telling black people to hit "them" where it hurts and not to shop in "their" shops.

How the feck does he think he is going to stop racial division by encouraging racial division?

I've always liked him, although he comes across a bit dumb. But these are dangerous words coming from such a high profile sports person.

It's akin the the N@zis telling people not spend their money at Jewish owned businesses.

No one cares about your petty squabbles with me Nobb.

Get a life.

You obviously do as you keep following me around and chuck insults my way - if you have a crush on me just buy me a drink - it’s a lot easier than making yourself look so basic on these forums every day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How many years is it now that you both well known posters have been at this? I'd have thought after all these years you two would have found some sort of happy medium by now.

The guy is obsessed. I comment on an article, have a decent debate with a bunch of people and he comes on it and instantly starts with the insults. For example on this very thread. He’s a strange guy, probably very lonely and I hope I give him some meaning in life 🤞

Ha, all he has to do is crack on with his life and leave his vendetta in the past along with all his political ideals and we’ll all be hunky dory 👍

Hmm, who would've thought that mobs carrying out acts of vigilantism, egged on by inflammatory rhetoric, would be met by opposing inflammatory rhetoric, also egging on mobs to carry out acts of vigilantism?

So what would you suggest is down to balance this out?

Why is it only some ethnic minorities that suffer this way? Why does the asian (I refer to the Far Eastern countries of origin) community not suffer the same way?

I think it’s the family structure and discipline in the home. Picture the character furious styles from Boyzn The Hood, he refused to let his boy go down that life, it was his responsibility and he lived up to it.

When a poor asian kid gets a D- at school you can bet your arris that their parents absolutely destroy them. Which is why they as a ethnicity do so damn well at school & university.

Poverty is of course the biggest factor, it’s extremely difficult but that’s the reality that you’re born into. The only thing way to get rid of that is to take away people’s possessions and live in a communist/Marxist state which so far when implemented has killed tens of millions and hundreds of millions in the Soviet Union and China OR you raise your children like Furius Styles and his son goes on to be an accountant or something moves out of the streets of Compton etc and changes the cycle.

Education is a key factor in all of this and here in the UK white people are the lowest percentage of university or higher education, which certainly indicates equality of opportunity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Interesting remarks. Family structures and education absolutely are fundamental issues. That said, a bit of historical perspective is needed too.

Eighteenth and nineteenth century U.S. literature (from the slave narratives of Equiano or Douglass, to the slavery- and race-related stories of Stowe, Twain or Chopin, for example) is a fascinating source for understanding how the current social and family structures came into being.

The importance of identity, family, and education was clear to the slave owners themselves.

It is one of the reasons slaves were not even allowed to know their own birth dates, ages, very often parents. Slaves were not only separated on arrival; later-generation American-born slaves were systematically separated from their parents too, both at slave auctions and by transfers between owners. Couples would often be separated, while a very large number of slaves were 'sired' (what a disgusting term and image) by white owners.

Very few were taught to read or write: literate slaves were considered hard to handle, much more likely to rebel and instigate rebellion, or try to escape.

And this is without even mentioning common practices such as branding, 'breaking', lashing, systematic rape. The horrors perpetrated to deny identity and mark slaves as inferior are just indescribable.

All this seems to us a very distant past that should have been overcome by now.

Think again.

The first step, abolition, was only roughly a century and a half ago. It took four years of civil war to achieve, and even after the war, there were local militias that fought on for a long time after.

That is, the are still African-Americans now whose grandparents were slaves. The last American Civil War pensioner died only last week.

Then bear in mind that even after the Civil War, all sorts of laws were put in place to ensure segregation and deny African-Americans access to basic opportunities.

Mid-20th century Civil Rights movements took place during the lifetimes of a considerable number of users of this site. Even though the wrongs that movement sought to put right were still absolutely shocking, once again they faced formidably fierce opposition - and even the social progress achieved then was far from absolute.

All of this context and background cannot be overlooked, because it is all far too recent for its effects to have vanished. Attitudes are passed down through generations; they do not, they cannot change at the flick of a switch.

As for Communism/Marxism being the only way to go about eradicating poverty or moving towards equal opportunity, I completely disagree.

Democracy is not synonymous with unbridled, neoliberal capitalism. It is not synonymous with concentrating wealth in fewer and fewer hands.

In fact, the best quality of life is found precisely in those democratic societies that are much more inclined to redistributing wealth and opportunity among the entire population and do much more to ensure a safety net for all their members.

Far right will exploit attacks on cenotaph, union flag and Churchill and assaults on police, even though the EDL and casuals do that too.

It's a recipe for race riots though, and perhaps BLM need to step back too and stop marching every other day.
