It's been a while....
...but that doesn't mean you lucky people don't deserve a bit of an update on what's happening with Premiership returnees Dundee United.
With the squad going back to training today it seemed a good time to update ourselves on what's going on.
Firstly it's a good reminder that the early bird season ticket period has now ended and we've done pretty well with season ticket sales so far - over 4000 have been sold for the upcoming campaign. I think that's excellent given the uncertainty, both in terms of when we can return to the ground and the financial uncertainty many people will be facing. Hopefully we see the number tick up higher as we get closer to a return to action and the picture becomes clearer in terms of when crowds will be allowed back to the grounds.
The club has of course committed to ensuring that all season ticket holders will be able to watch the games on the club tv station, and they've also committed to giving a credit of 1/19th of a season ticket for each game we aren't able to attend (beyond the first two games). I think that's fair to be honest and credit to the club for doing it.
It's been slow of course on transfers - as you would expect in these times - but we are maintaining our pursuit of Kevin Nisbet from Dunfermline and I'd be very keen to see him added to the squad. He will likely be a Shankland replacement rather than his strike partner but he certainly fits the mold. We'll be fighting off interest from Portsmouth for him though and I'm led to believe Hibs are interested too.
We've also confirmed our interest in Finnish winger Ilmari Niskanen, with the 22 year old KUPS player hopefully on his way. I know nothing about him but it's an area we certainly need to strengthen.
The club does have money to spend on transfers so I'm expecting activity in the coming weeks. The fixtures come out next week I believe and that's when the urgency kicks in - and I do think we urgently need some players in.
Away from the playing side, the club has kissed and made up with the DUSF and have created a new supporters liaison structure, and the DUSF have injected the money they've raised into the club. Which is all good news.
Now all we need is Admin to update the pages so that the mighty Terrors are back in their spot in the 'Scottish Premier' and all will be right with the world.

Yes Teams plays a big role in my life.....far too big....
Although we're looking to get a licence for Adobe Connect. I think I've trialled every major meeting software in the last couple of months

I use teams permanently right now. My last job used Skype for Business which was also good but I much prefer Teams for it's all encompassing use

I think they've developed Teams quite well so far during this pandemic. Increasing the number of cameras on screen has been pretty crucial.
I still find moving to breakout rooms and even the sharing of documents and resources to be a bit clunky, particularly for what I'm trying to do, which is why we're trying to get access to Adobe Connect.

Fookin nerds....You do realize that most of us are looking up Adobe to see what team they play for?

the biggest pain I find is sharing something then trying to share a different thing. Unless I have them both on one screen then share screen then I have to share the visio, then stop sharing to then share my excel
That kinda thing. Sharing second screen is fine but requires a bit of planning

Used webex for a few meetings now with larger numbers, it’s good.
Current pet hates are people who ask a question then leave their mic unmuted whilst they listen to the answer. Morons.

Anyway - enough of that.
I can’t wait for the football to get back up and running. Bought my season ticket last month, even though I know we won’t be back in the stadium for ages.
Mon the Terrors.

Supposedly the "new manager" saying part of the deal is his assistant has to have some connection to the club. Barry Robson being mentioned along with Jon Daly. I'd prefer Robson out of these two.
However, I've also heard Christian Dailly being linked.
