Based on what's happened in Germany, home advantage seems to have all but disappeared without fans. Interestingly the home side is now half as likely to win as before.
So the better team will more likely win that they would before without the influence of a crowd. That means our tough away games to Cardiff, Swansea and Blackburn aren't really away games in the same sense. Personally, I think this lifts some of the pressure for our team in our home games too. Last season, I think our crowd had a negative effect on the team with so much pressure and tension against Norwich and Wigan.
Also means the teams around us will benefit from the same thing. We've got 7 points on Fulham but their chances of going on a good run are much higher than before. I'm expecting midtable teams to be in a worse condition too. Still all to play for.
Home advantage

In La Liga it’s not been quite as radical. Six wins, six draws and three defeats for the homes sides. Though it’s a smaller sample size. I’ve a feeling the Bundesliga stats will be more of an outlier, once all the leagues are completed.

Mentality plays a part. Some players/teams won't be that up for it. Teams won't have there cup finals against us if there are no fans in the stadium rousing them up. Should boil down to the better teams

had a really good debate on this a few weeks ago with a poster, and the german games have helped confirm my stance on it.. its the crowd that make the home advantage, not a bit of grass in a different county!
that said, I think the home advantage does play some part at least, especially for those teams / managers who use the width of the pitch dimension as a tactic. I beleive the old Arsenal team under george graham was famous for narrowing the pitch to aid thier off side trap game?
but, as the german games have proved, its crowd that give the home advantage.

Home advantage in UEFA !
The European competitions are today discussing how to conclude the Champions League and Europa League.

It seems they are moving to stage outstanding games in a central area. This for second leg games still to play would appear unfair !
It also seems referees "decisions" could be affected by fans getting not baiting decisions they make.
Strange days ahead.

Mentality is crucial now...which players in the Leeds team will have the 'look of Eagles' and which players might well display erectile dysfunction?

Thanks. Interesting read of a very detailed piece of research. The time spent going through these games with such detail is amazing. How this actually plays out over the next 5 or 6 weeks will be interesting.
The bookies will ned to adjust their already biased betting odds.

Osnabrück played away to Hamburg last night, we were expecting to get hammered, finished 1v1!..
So the top 3 Osna got 1 from Bielefeld!..
4 from Stuttgart!..
And 4 from Hamburg!..
Because of last nights result Bielefeld are promoted and Hamburg are sweating, but Osna held the top 3 all to away draws and lost 1 home to Bielefeld!..

That's interesting, I hadn't seen that.
The Bundesliga stats make more sense to me - the crowd expects their home team to go for a win, can intimidate opposition, get more decisions from referees etc. Without that, I don't see what advantage being a home side has.

Best fans, yeah the fans are clearly the big impact on the results of home teams. But there will be smaller details that benefit the home team such as travel and preparation.
Looking at the games is Germany it seems that the amount of away wins is still disproportionate. If you take away home advantage it should equalise to a more even amount of home and away wins, in theory.
