There was some confusion with this announcement. People were not sure if it was DLC, if it was part of a Spiderman PS5 remaster, or a game in it's own right.
Not helped by a Sony spokesperson sending out a conflicting message.
I have no idea if anyone here was asking any of those questions, but Insomniac seem to have cleared things up with this interview.

Well it's standalone along the lines of lost legacy/left behind.
I am guessing they will be selling this as a bundle with Spiderman PS4 too, having a day 1 PS5 patch.

It does look good Hitler, and I'm sure will be a lot of fun. But this game will almost certainly be based around the engine driving the first game. there will be big improvements like textures etc.
But the real leap will come when they have more time to optimise properly for the PS5 hardware. This is just the start for Spiderman.
