Maybe the same reason as me? There's always the hope with Liverpool cos you were exciting for approx 2 1/2 years with this manager. And vs. the top teams (who attack you) you're still capable of it.

Can’t say I’ve ever been that bothered abo to watching United, regardless of how they’re playing.

Find it a bit odd myself.

everton will regret that performance. Once lovren came on for sure, but the second origi, did our shape was gone totally. we were there for the taking.

positives
alisson
taa
gomez
vvd
fabinho
henderson
keita
mane
firmino

all looked reasonable, just reasonable but in some shape.

minamino did too but I want to single him out as he tried his best but was out of position and it showed.

if salah is out I would go 4231 next game and try and work keita wide left (though he was in a good place last night, im sure palace will instantly plan for that) and maybe mane up top on his own.

those way off were ox as usual, windy who pulled out of tackles and obviously lovren. matip did OK.

really the issue at hand is finding the pace of the games and staying fit.

dare I say it but if proof was needed that werner was a mistake that game is a prime example. we needed a striker last night and had minamino running into Bobby's space and trying very hard but origi ran anywhere but into the box and really we had zero threat.

having werner would not be possible but the case is starkly shown.

I never get why Origi goes on the left. Hes pretty poor out wide. All his great performances for us have been as a striker but Klopp keeps putting him on the left for some reason and even when it nullify Mane.

This game surely proves that Liverpool 19/20 are not one of the great PL teams.
--------------------------------------------------------
Depends how you define great. I'd put them in the conversation for sure.

Are they one of the most boring PL winning teams to watch? Oh god yes!

The irony of Klopp's comments after the Atletico match when he criticized Simeone for making great players play boring football. So blissfully unaware
____________
Most of Man Utd title winning teams were boring. Last one was the most boring among all.

Nah. A few of them weren't fantastic I'll grant you but this Liverpool team's duller. It REALLY lacks a creative player in midfield to lend variety in attack.

I don't blame Klopp for that, part of that is the tactics & while it's working he shouldn't change it, but yeah.... it's tedious at times.

Correction, I don't blame Klopp for it in relation to the best interests of Liverpool. I do blame him for making silly comments about other team's playing style, especially after beating him with them.

Reminded me of that Mourinho comment in 2013 where he accused West Ham of playing anti-football. It's like come on man, behave

we were at 70% and dropped to about 30% of our regular game by the 80th minute.

everton should be ashamed of not taking advantage of the absolute mess our team was once origi came on.

gomez and origi down the left killed any chance of attack.

minamino worked hard but ran into midfield, never into space and he didnt support taa at all.

in general I was feeling it would be tough having seen the first games of the return and it went pretty much to that model.

milner, matip, and minamino injuries will never help a team either. luckily where arsenal had to play city we only had everton to laugh at when we sent on lovren.

lfc will improve a bit imo.

alisson
taa gomez vvd x
henderson fabinho keita
x firmino mane

9 of the 11 will play v palace if nobody else is injured so its really all about who is fit and I think the other 9 will improve a bit with a game under the belts.

we need to remember that once we play weds then theres a bit of a gap to the next game to improve more before the big one v city.
