Taking Bamford off at half time proved

that the primary role of the number 9 in this team is not scoring goals.

Unusually for Bamford he took his only chance very well. But his all round game was off. He wan't holding the ball up well enough for certain.

And so despite his goal he was hauled off at half time.

Fans have been saying that it doesn't matter what he does with regards to pressing or holding the ball up, he needs to score goals and that's all that matters.

The Fulham game proves this is not the case and is exactly why Eddie wasn't played more.

Strikers are not on the pitch just to score goals anymore and that is evidenced all across football.

Hopefully we can sign a player that will do both for next season but the priority of our number 9 will be to benefit the system and improve the play of the whole team. Finishing will always be secondary to that.

Well, Bamford does divide opinions doesn't he?

Bottom line is that he is our number 9, top scorer and we are top of the league with 7 games to go. He has also missed many many chances because he gets in such good positions and because he usually pulls apart and bullies opposition players, holds the ball up well and defends from the front. He even defends at the back.

And on Saturday, for once, he played a bit like a cart horse and scored a beauty, all because his control was bad and we got a lucky ricochet.

Of course, Roberts was better though. He played for 90 minutes, didn't score, got lucky by not giving away a penalty because his control was shocking, while Bamford pretty much stopped the Fulham scoring into an open net from 6 yards out.

Football isn't black or white. Sometimes you are on your game and sometimes you are not. But these guys bleed Leeds United, every one.

And we're top of the League and about to get promoted, and I'm as proud as **** of all of them. Ups and downs, as a team and as individuals, they get my backing.

To be honest with you, it seems to be you getting into a bit of a strop. But okay. If it helps you feel better I will play along.

You're the one originally attacking my posts, perhaps you should learn to read...I've tried to be fair and give my honest opinion, never said anything to you...but I know you like to take me on, sweet!

I disagreed with your post, and you then sent three posts containing incorrect 'insults' and virtually asking me if I wanted to step outside.
