According to one media outlet he's wanted by Palace following good loan spells with Charlton and Swansea.

A decent lad and good player but I think the timings bad for him at the moment, with central midfield the one area we look to be pretty sorted in.
Not too sure what the best option would be for him; should he go somewhere now (assuming he's allowed to leave) for regular first team football.
Or
Tough it out here and see what happens with Jorginho possibly leaving and Kante approaching 30 and starting to look more injury prone.
Conor Gallagher in demand?

I like him a lot, but given our current midfield options and the rumours that we may sign another, I think it may be a case of bad timing, similar to Lamptey.

Pretty much the long and short of it unless we're to let a couple go in the transfer window.
Lamptey was actually my favourite player from the academy, (not necessarily the one I thought would make it with us) I loved his surging runs. He's putting in good performances in for Brighton as well.

I would look to chase a PL loan for him (or in another top 5 league or a top club in Holland/Portugal etc) in this way hopefully if is best of all worlds ie he performs well he puts himself on market for potential move or heightens his chances of being considered at Chelsea.

I doubt we’d sell him now. He’s making really good progress, and will almost certainly be worth a lot more in a year or two. If he’s not brought back into the squad this coming year, I imagine we’ll look for another loan move. I’ve read him quoted that he’s in touch with the people at Chelsea (like Morris), and he knows his career is being watched.

Gallagher will only be sold If he's unwilling to sign a new contract (next year), like Lamptey...who was into his final year of contract at Chelsea and made the choice to move on permanently. Understandable.
The competition infront of Lamptey at Chelsea, was insurmountable.
Gametime would have been hard to come by, with the brick: https://video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1279698033064718336/vid/720x720/oNkwKK__AyRDYCdk.mp4 and Captain Azpi existing.
Club may or may not have inserted a buyback clause in Lamptey deal, which could well be exercised in future when Azpi is no longer at the club.
