This is not an article to take anything away from Liverpool before anyone says that. Their form in the 1st 2/3 of the season was excellent. They found a way to get win after win and strolled to the title.
I’m going to look at some stats though.
City are 2nd with 9 defeats. It’s a long time since anyone has finished 2nd with that amount of losses. On the flip side they could still amass 81 points which isn’t bad for 2nd.
If United or Leicester don’t win maximum points in their remaining fixtures (both can’t as they still have to play each other) it will we 1st time since 06/07 that 2 sides have reached top 4 with under 70 points.
In terms of relegation it’s still highly possible that all 3 relegated sides go down with less than 30 points. Mid 30’s look like it will be more than enough to be safe.
You could take these stats too ways. Either the league is in weak state currently or it is more competitive.
Personally I think it’s hard to say but the way the English sides have generally performed in Europe this season it suggests it is weaker in general.

next time you could try addressing the arguments, rather than just going off on one. there may or may not be some "idiot factions" on this thread, but i haven't seen any posts that advance the debate less than yours.

Of course it is, i can't really see how that can be argued. And this comes from a fan of a club actually unsettling the bigger clubs party, i am still not foolish enough to think we are where we are ahead of some of them other than through the fact that they are in disarray.

5 different winners in like 7-8 seasons says it's competitive.
When man u and arsenal were competing for the title every year the league was dross. They were miles ahead.
Now it's the same with Liverpool and city but they are detting records and the teams in the bottom half are way stronger and have way more resources.
That's how man u are so far off the pace despite constantly spending hundreds of millions.
Pl teams dominate the transfer market like never before.

Competitive doesn’t necessarily equal high quality.
My Sunday league is competitive.
