How did winning the quadruple, going the entire league campaign unbeaten and setting the points record end up collapsing into just winning the league?

I just can't believe how it all collapsed. It really looked like your team was going to do something unprecedented and it's just turned into nothing. Someone wins the league every season, that's nothing new. But if you had broken a points record or won the CL or done anything alongside that, this team may have been remembered and gone down in history. It won't now and I'm so thankful for that

Gone from history books of greatness to matching Blackburn and Leicester in achievements

It isn’t a one off in the same sense of Leicester (and to a lesser extent Blackburn). Last season they won the champions league, finished 2nd with 97 points, and carried on this season by winning the league and again reaching 90 plus points.

It’s nice as a City fan not to have Liverpool break our points record. But that’s all really. It is a proud record, but it was never the main aim - winning the title was always that, anything else is just a bonus.

Can't imagine it bothers Liverpool fans much but of course rival fans will be pleased that they aren't winning other trophies this year, nor are they breaking records.
