Southgate wont do that unless greenwood is getting like 40 goals a season

He loves Kane

Kane is a hungry striker and clearly quality in how he is on and off the pitch. I don't think there is a question he'll be able to emulate Shearer in the same circumstances.

As Edbo says, he doesn't even need to have the very prolific seasons to match the record, he just needs to remain fit enough to score as many goals as he has the last couple of seasons for the next 7 years or so.

Yeah I’m joking. Kane’s spot in the England team is safe for a good few years yet.

Shearer retired at 30. But we were really shiiiiit at Euro 2000 and had Owen.

Even if Kane does lose his spot around that age, he’ll probably stick around in the squad as we have such a promising young side.

Not to hype him up too much but Greenwood should now be looking to be the one to break the goal record that Kane will take from Shearer.

Greenwood looks insanely good but this might be a bit much

I think a lot depends on whether Greenwood plays centrally or coming off the flanks. If he’s chasing full-backs he likely won’t be in goal scoring positions as much.

He’ll likely play through the middle eventually. But even if he stays out wide, that shouldn’t stop him too much from scoring goals.

It depends on a lot to be fair.

I think given the players around him he shouldn't be short on goals, especially if United get Sancho.

At 18 and scoring now, he's already got a couple of years on Kane before Kane became prolific.

He’ll need to establish himself in the United team first. If we sign Sancho that will be harder for him to do. And Martial’s starting to look like a good cf now.

I like Kane.

29 PL goals in 30 games is the best scoring season anyone’s ever had in the PL. A World Cup Golden Boot is not to be sniffed at either.

But imagine scoring all those goals and not winning a dime. Like James Harden in the NBA. Ultimately it’s about winning.

Giroud doesn’t score at the clip Kane does but he’s been a Champion everywhere he’s been:

League with Montpellier
FA Cups & Shields with Arsenal
Europa & FA Cup with Chelsea
The Big One with France
