In transport terms, who contributes more to the economy, a cyclist or a motorist?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To isolate contributions in such a way would be truly stupid, as would ignoring the cost to society of those transport modes.

Why aren't bikes advertised with the same fervour as cars on TV?

Almost anyone can own a bike, however a new car in an affordable range for the populous will require some sort of differentiation and brand awareness to be built as market share is competed for.
McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo etc don’t advertise in the same way as they don’t need to.

You could ask who needs more support, a cyclist or a motorist?
However everyone needs a road transport network to be in existence whether they use the road or not.

Can you delete my comment in the very infancy of this article please - it seems so out of context and irrelevant now!
