Yeah i’ll join this. At the start of the season I was looking forward to see him being replaced by James. James perhaps hasn’t hit great heights this season (fingers crossed, soon come though) but also azpi has over the course of the season performed well in his own right.

For the most, quite defensively strong and has managed to contribute quite well and consistently going forward.

It feels a while ago now but at the start of this season there was a lot of furore (and tbf mostly on Twitter) about how Azpi is a bad captain and it should go to Jorginho. Well I reckon most would be perfectly content continuing to see Azpi as captain for next season.

Probably won’t get the acknowledgement but arguably the best rb in the league this year (having also played rcb and lb) guys our captain and been asked to play multiple positions and has been 8/10 most weeks while watchinga shambolic keeper and calamitous back 4.

I don't think he is a great captain tbh, but I think he is Chelsea POTS. It's close, but he has put in some great performances at RB, LB and CB. Without that versitility Frank would have been fecked to be honest.

I don’t think he’s been better than TAA nick. Second best RB tho yeah very arguable

I don’t personally either biggish but it is an extra role he has to do and take on and he does it. What could potentially be a distraction but his performances are still top class
