Crucial player to our team but stalling on a new contract and waiting on an offer from top clubs such as Barca and Madrid, it doesn't sit well, him being the captain.
Not a good look for a captain to be looking a move away.
Great player for us but he never really came across as captain material.
I think he's a player suited to playing his game without the leadership responsibilities.
I wouldn't even have him as vice captain
Should Aubameyang remain as our captain

Xhaka is the obvious leader in the team and should probably have the armband back if he wants it.

Yet again you are Illogical.

It's all our weak club admin's fault.
They have just allowed an 18-year-old kid in his breakout season to toy around with them for a year before extending his contract.
Auba will now probably demand a seat on the board before he signs.

Terrible player

He just isn't. He'd easily walk into every side in the country bar the top 5 or 6. Can we do better than xhaka? Yeah of course, but he isn't a bad player by any means.

Well said, we can definitely do better, he's not the type of midfielder we need to get back in the top 4 but the evidence is clear that he is the natural leader in the team, plus he's also improved since Arteta joined, so probably the best candidate. It would also allow Auba concentrate on his game, without the burden of the captaincy.

I honestly wonder what has happened to our ability to find or develop leaders. Vieira's squad had at least half a team of captain material. Now you have to scratch your head hard to find one.

Giving captaincy to a player that threw shirt and said f word to fans is very illogical. Also it was clear that he was under pressure that he couldn't cope of being captain.

Clearly you struggle to differentiate between logic and an emotional based opinion (which yours is). He's the most natural leader in the team, who all the players and manager respect and therefore most suited to the captaincy..thats logical.
Do I personally want him to be? I don't particularly mind who the captain is, but your focus on the past incident and dismissal of the fact he's the most suited... is purely emotional 👍

It's not emotional. Based on past we all saw that he is not feeling comfortable with armband. Real captain would just walk off of pitch, that's captain thing to do. He is too unstable to be captain. Period.
