Copied from Spurs board because I’m bored
Leno (K)
Martinez (K)
Macey (K)
Bellerin (K)
AMN (K)
Cedric (K) - only cos we gave him a 4 year contract
Kola (S)
Tierney (K)
Saliba (K)
Sokratis (R)
Mari (K)
Mustafi (S)
Holding (S)
Luiz (K)
Chambers (S)
Elneny (S)
Torreira (S)
Xhaka (K)
Gwen (K) - realistically he’s gone tho
Saka (K)
Willock (L)
ESR (K)
Nelson (K)
Ozil (R)
Mkhi (R)
Pepe (K)
Auba (K)
Laca (S)
Eddie (L)
Martinelli (K)
That leaves 4 HG, 8 Non HG, 6 U21
Currently we are at 16 non HG players not including Willian or Ceballos.
I’d release Ozil, Mkhi and Sokratis simply because it will be cheaper than paying them in full for the remainder of their respective contracts to not do anything. It would also free up £600k-£700k/week in wages.
Sign 1 CB, 2 CM, 1 CF on top of Willian and Ceballos (Loan)
Keep (K), Sell (S), Loan (L), Release (R)

Does the OP realise that releasing a player means you have to pay-ff their contract? So how would you save on wages?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
usually, they settle for lower than the full amount (if they are not rebelling like Bale). But agree we will have to find that money somewhere and will affect our transfer budget

with someone like Ozil, we are flucked. He will want full wages paid and all bonuses as he is quite happy to stay on the bench for 2 years.

The thing is, though, none of those we want rid of look like they will.
Ozil said he will stay despite being pushed aside.
Sokratis said he will stay despite Arteta rarely using him.
Mustafi will see out his contract, Kola too.

No, Mickey is on loan for another year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And his contract expires after the loan. So off the books.
If we sell Laca and loan Eddie we are short upfront. Martinelli is injured until the end of December.
So to sell Laca is just silly.

Why would they do that unless they have a nice juicy contract lined up. And in that case wouldn't it be better to loan with us paying part percentage of the wages. Better for the balance sheet and saves us money.
