It’s being announced that Chelsea has reached agreement with Leverkusen for his signature for a whooping £89 million.
I have caught glimpses of the 21 year old in Bundesliga action and reviewed video clips of him on YouTube. While there is no question to the talent and technique in that left foot, I am dubious as to whether his slight frame will stand up to the unforgiving physical grind in the engine room of premiership battles.
I am also wary that Bayern did make a play for him, especially given that Thiago might be on his way.
Are Chelsea taking a massive gamble here?

A shoulder barge in the Bundesliga is no different to the one he will get in the PL.
This is a very good signing for Chelsea. Could turn out to be the best player in the world in a few year's. He was the one player I really wanted at Liverpool. Even more than Werner.

He will not have the physicality to go up against the brutes at the other top clubs like Bernardo Silva, Bruno, Torrera, Delle Ali.
To make it in this league you have to be over 6'5 and weigh over 20 stone. Bernardo Silva will have him for breakfast.

Naby Kieta looked elite in the germany league. Now he looks like a £50m Elneny. Anyone outside of Bayern is not up to standard for the PL imo

A player coming from Germany to Chelsea is being questioned as it might be too big a step up to the PL.
But we have 2 players coming from France, which is widely regarded as having a league that is not as good as Germany, and everyone seems to be hailing them as immediate starters and going on as if they are proven world class players and the step up in league is non existent.
