Bolton Wanderers v Crewe Alexandra

Efl trophy time. Crewe are the visitors to the unibol tonight for a 7pm kick off. Tough league one opposition who have already beaten bolton 3-0 in pre season. You can look at this fixture 2 ways. First step on the road to a cup run and a bit of prize money which can't be sniffed at in the current climate. Another is to treat as another warm up for the first league game on Saturday. A win tonight is 3 points, a draw 1 point each and a penalty shoot out for a 2nd point. Team news. I can't even begin to work out the new rules but looks like ian evatt will make changes to give other squad players a go. No new injuries from Saturday.

Can we play guess the next signing ?
I'll go for a striker but who I ain't got a clue
I thought seeing Faal wearing a protective might be a clue but isn't he due to go out on loan anyway

I guess striker then every position is covered by 2 players.

In the BEN FGR team news
Should we be concerned I know it says minor injuries but 3 or 4 new ones from Crewe along with the selection rules means we need another computer to work out who can play against FGR.
Niggles can turn into something far worse if pushed we need to make sure players are rested and fully cured don't we or is that wishful thinking with us being Bolton

We will just have to wait and see who is out. I doubt that it will be three or four. However, we are used to loseing players through ijury so it's nothing new and some may say it's to be expected. It happenes to all teams but we seem to have a bad record on injuries.

In any event, if Evatt can get our defence organised I believe that we could get a win. The defence is the crucial element. Stop leaking goals and we should have enough firepower to win the game.

Maybe its me over thinking the number of players out this weekend will impact on the IE's preferred players and we'll end up losing with IE saying we were short because we couldn't play them but had to play xyz instead due to the cup rules
Don't shoot me if it turns out to be a premonition

Could the 6ft 7 inch very very fast centre half be the key.

It's match day I'm ready and believe it or not I am somewhat excited by the prospect of starting this league campaign.
Should I be expecting promotion or a jolly good showing the truth is I guess with the current situation we should all be hoping FV and IE can guide us through this so we come out of it with a club in good health

Do any computer and gadget updates well before you set up for the match or you may miss it.

Stay safe everybody

If he's fit he could be part of a defence that makes a difference. However, we have to remember that one defender can't do the job himself. Any amount of training won't work unless you can read the game.

Evatt has said that he doesn't like the ball being cleared into row Z. Sometimes, if in doubt kick it out, is the best option. I hope that he remembers that.

Pasty, I'm hoping for promotion at the first time of asking. If we don't achieve that but finish in a high position, it really won't help FV or anyone having a near miss.

Promotion will give the board more income to motor on. wallowing in division 2 wouldn't be the disaster as bad as going out of business but cash will be key to our cause of reinventing the club.
