Clearly I do because I have spent a lot of thsi thread explaining simple mathematical concepts to various people.

......

Have you. Looks like you have been getting wound up because you have spent shed loads of money.

Get over it. All the top teams have to spend to maintain being at the top.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Where have I denied it? I doesn't bother me that Liverpool have spent money- something that I am well aware of and have acknowledged already in the thread. It isnt my money so it makes no odds how much the spent.

I simply pointed out (with evidence) that Liverpool have spent comparatively less on their title winning team than other teams bar Leicester in the last 15 years. Not wound up, simply stating researched facts that apply standard concepts like inflation to provide the most accurate assessments.

Hardly seems like getting wound up to me.

So which bit of maths did I not understand during thay discussion?

Except you haven’t at all.

Answer this very simple question: do you honestly think that United or any other top team would pay £170m or £145m for a top defender? And I mean now not 4 years, not 6 years. Now?

Yes or no
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Really struggling. I've not said that they woild do anything, although i don't see any patticular reason why they wouldn't.

I said that they bought Rio in 2002 for 9 times the average transfer. If that happened today then it would be the same as buying a defender for £145 million. I havent said they are going to go out and buy a defender for that much, just that they spent the equivalent of that much in a player for their team in 2002. It shows the relative costs of teams in different years so that analysis can be done.

You even tried to dispute my maths and provided a source that confirmed it.

What it shows is that United (and Chelsea and City) won their titles from 04 onward by outspending their rivals hugely and when compared with teams today this runs to the tune of about £5-600 million on their team. (That is the average cost of the 11 on the pitch at any goven tine).

If they were top notch and they were badly in need of a defender, yes.

Welsh, attempting to teach a simple maths concept to Jim is like trying to get blood from a stone. Don’t waste your breath.

Welsh doesn’t understand simple maths. If you bothered to read his comments instead of butt kissing you would know that.

"NEWS" in Germany is that Hoeness came out in saying we really try hard to keep Thiago and offered him a great new deal. We know also that he is in tough with Liverpool and United but would prefer Pool for being more keen to work under Kloppo.

Media saying that it is a waiting game. Both clubs could wait until the last hour of the transfer window to get this deal done.

That's the most United thing I've ever heard. No real point in having a three month window when you can do everything in the last couple of days
