I am more than aware that a lot of MUFC fans are unhappy with how slowly things are going for the club in this window. The fact that Bale, Reguilon and now seemingly Thiago are all signing for rival clubs may aggravate this further. In defence of United, though, I think all 3 are dodged bullets and here's why:
Bale - he's barely played at Madrid now for some time and at 31, with his injury record he's a no go. I am interested to see how he does this time round, with a lot less pace in his game than ever before. Let's not even mention his stupid wages by the way
Reguilion - he looked good at Sevilla there's no denying that, but could he do it at a club like United who are elite? I would also like to point out that, despite how good he apparently is, Madrid didn't keep him around did they? Loaned to Sevilla and then gone. People should remember as well that Madrid have a buy back on him, so if he really is any good he will effectively just be on loan at Spurs for a season or two.
Thiago - nowhere near as good or effective as Bruno, Pogba or Matic as a holding player. Plus, when you look at his injury record he is a major risk for any top club to sign. A truly shocking stat with Thiago is that in all his time at Bayern, he's never played more than 30 league games! In 7 seasons??! That's scandalous.
So that's why I think United have dodged 3 bullets in this window.
Bullet Dodgers?

Have been pretty much since Ronaldo left.
And Barca. I would say we are on the upside of a rebuild programe and Barca are going on the down side.

Bale - don't think any United fan wanted anything to do with him.
Reguilon - again, don't think any United fan wanted him if the deal involved a buy-back clause.
Thiago - I think most fans who know anything about football knows a Thiago-Pogba double pivot would've been suicide, despite Thiago's decent defensive stats.
We're more frustrated about our lack of overall activity rather than missing out on these three. Don't understand why our 'world class' negotiating team keep inquiring about players but not placing bids...where's the logic in this?

Suicide??? Give me the lottery ticket numbers whilst you are at it. Anyone who knows this beautiful game also knows there is a saying that goes like, " good players can always find a way to play with each other." Football is a simple game made complicated by your likes

__________
Thiago had a tireless Goretzka next to him
Pogba has Kante for France
The only way you could make those two work against top teams would be if you had a genius tactician in charge, and for all of Ole's pros, he's definitely not a tactical genius.

Who in their right mind is going to play a midfield of two against the top sides in this world? Why is this even being discussed.

_______________
Two in midfield with a no.10 at the tip, it's called the 4231 in case you've never heard of it....
Bayern just won the CL playing it
France won the World Cup playing it
Most importantly, clearly Ole is obsessed with the 4231

chit teams dont win league titles and do it with 87 points in the bag.
Barca are still a top ten side in world football.
