Group Stages of the Europa League. Not without its hiccups, but Spurs did a very professional job and finished it off last night with a seven goal spree.
Very decent night all round, great win, new striker inbound, then draw Stoke in the QFinals of the Carabou. Cannot ask for to much more on a single evening.
I thought Moura and Bergwijn both had very good second halfs. Dele had a great little cameo when he came on as well. Still not sure about Doherty defensively, whether his fault or not, he is giving away pens on a regular basis. I personally would still prefer Aurier, but I get he is not everybody`s cup of team. So will not dwell on that. Sanchez looked a bit shaky at times as well, gave the ball away in dangerous areas a couple of times.
Harry was his usual self, scoring for fun. I saw and heard on various media outlets yesterday that apparently Calvin-Lewis is better than Kane now. FFS Kane is absolute world class. Calvin-Lewis is just having a decent couple of week spell, that happens from time to time. He is a decent player, but not in a million years is he on Kane`s level.
Having said that it was not all plain sailing last night, despite the seven goals. There was still some sloppy play, balls lost or given away close to the penalty area to many times for my liking. Also our midfield is still far to easy for the opposition just to walk straight through. Maccabi had 13 shots, and six on target, which is far, far too many for a club that cannot be much above Division 1 level. Two goals conceeded, means yet another game without a clean sheet. Which means that Spurs need to score at least two in every game to win matches.
But hey ho, let`s not dwell on any negatives, a tough period of matches is almost over, and only Old Trafford to negotiate at the weekend now. I will take a point right now if offered, but obviously always hoping for a win. But not the easiest match to finish the tough two week period off with.
At least after the United match, the two week break will come before the next batch of matches for Spurs, and hopefully Bale and Son will be up and running for the West Ham match.
Today we have the Europa Group Stage draw at 12 noon, so we shall see who Spurs get. Not overly worried, I assume it will be home and away for the groups, so Spurs should have no problem progressing, whoever is in the group.

PS Sadly I have had to filter another so called Spurs supporter, who thought it right to start throwing insults around on the match thread. What is it with grown men, that they cannot accept another person`s opinion or post without having to resort to insults. I really do give up with some on the board. Most know how to behave decently fortunately. Banter yes, heated discussion yet, but just insults for no reason, absolutely no.

Great memories mate..... That was one of my first games at the Lane.... Was there with my Dad..... I was only 8 !! Stood on a wooden shoe box on the shelf so I could see !!!!

Yeah but TBF one off finals at neutral venues make sense given how much football we play these days. I guess it would be nice if they could play finals in sensible cities..... The ropey league final for Arsenal & Chelsea was a joke........ all about the $$$ sadly..... really hope Spurs win one this year..... Prospects for the LC look good with 2 of City, Arsenal, United & Everton going out and we defo stand a chance in EL.... Fingers crossed.... year will end in 1 !!!!!

while i get fecked off with some of the bollix on our board when some posters go ott and have a pop at others
i have to admit i nearly spat a mouthful of peroni out when i read your comment telling somebody to go feck themselves in so many words because they piffed you off.
we've got some quality people on our board and it's a pleasure chatting to them but like most boards this is the case.
gotta be honest i was gutted when poch was sacked but can understand the decision but we still don't know what made it all unfold.
i will always love poch because how the bloke is and the teams he put out gave us all a sense of pride in our club.
none of us support tottenham to glory hunt but that man gave us so many happy days and nights.that last season at the lane was quality,my seat had moved from paxton to park lane which i wasn't happy with at first but understood due to building the new ground.
my seat was very close to the away fans and what a season it turned out to be.17 wins and 2 draws i think
poch has gone and jose is here,i wasn't happy with how we were playing under him but i will give him a chance and hope he proves people wrong.
