Ole's Man Management Overrated

If I remember correctly he actually wanted Lukaku to stay but Romelu wasn't convinced and wanted to play for a manager that he felt valued his talents.

Ole plays favourites too much when it comes to Rashford. I think romelu could see this and was insulted at the idea that he would play second fiddle.

Ole always subs MArtial rather than Rashford even when Tony has scored and Rashford's had a poor game.

The decision to play a DDG in various semi finals over Romero lacked class and was extremely disrespectful and unnecessary. David was in poor form at the time and Romero had done nothing to warrant being dropped.

Not playing Fred despite him being one of our most important players last season.

Not starting Donny VDB is one thing but to be brining him on in stoppage time? What is this guy trying to say?

Take it from a Chelsea fan, any players form in Mourinho's car crash season should be taken with a pinch of salt.

......

It didn’t improve under Ole though. You may not have noticed how overweight Lukaku actually was whether it was fat or bulked up muscle.

He's still looks out of shape

Think he's like Higuain, always looks a bit fatter than he is, I wouldn't read into it too much.

It is amazing our best 2 goalkeepers are reserve keepers. I think De Gea wage means OGS is forced to play him. Real Madrid got lucky in the end the fax machine broke as they went on to win CL they wouldn’t have if they had De Gea in goal. Now thinking of it Real Madrid offered more than De Gea was worth.

But Martial didn’t do too badly replacing his goals - he scored more league goals than Lukaku managed for us, albeit one more. Neither did Rashford, who did the same. And they actually scored against decent teams. Putting our trust in those two wasn’t a bad decision, Lukaku wasn’t going to stick around as a back up striker. But we didn’t sign an adequate back up, it wasn’t fair to rely on Greenwood to fulfill that role.

I don’t need to read anything into it. Watching hip gasping for air after a ten yard sprint told me something wasn’t right.

Lukaku lookalike Stormzy likes talking about backups. 👍

Yeah, true. Just even with those records neither are players I'd feel comfortable with as strikers that'll guarantee goals, I still see both as inside forwards rightly or wrongly. Frustrating as Lukaku is he just oozes goals.

I will say though I think United should've tried to keep him, purely based on gut feeling, I do think Inter was the right move for him. He looks absolutely quality in a two & I doubt Solskjaer was ever gunna entertain that.

That may be, but Lukaku isn’t a player you can feel comfortable playing football or scoring against sides better sides in the league. It’s not like this has really changed at Inter. He’s just a mental midget in a giant’s body.

Once Mourinho left everything pointed towards Lukaku leaving. The player, the manager, the fans and the club all felt this was for the best. I don’t think any one of those has changed their minds about it, and for good reason.

As mentioned, and it’s something that’s been pretty much agreed upon by fans, failure to bring another striker in was the issue with the Lukaku sale.

Whether that was a back up striker or someone that would have started for us is the bigger debate, not the actual sale.

To be honest Romero is our best goalkeeper and I wonder why De Gea keeps playing. I think Romero could be number 1 keeper in any team there is as he is that good. Look at Chelsea replacing Kepa as he can’t save shots and De Gea rewarded from constant mistakes by playing the next game. Honestly think Romero would have conceded a lot less. Honestly think Solskjaer decision last season was a disgrace dropping Romero in the cup competitions when we got to the semi-finals. I honestly wouldn’t have been surprised if Romero played all 3 semi-finals we would have progressed to the final as De Gea barely made a save in all 3.

How many goalkeepers concede 11 goals from 18 shots on target in the PL?
