Hard lesson

Last night just goes to show we still have a long way to go to match Europes best teams. There is no doubt we are improving as a team but I still suspect we lack confidence when playing teams such as Bayern and show too much respect instead of doing the job. I am hoping it's just early day wobbles and we find our feet, but I have to say I'm not confident of us progressing to the next round on our present showing. Should we just be concentrating on the premier league title and one of the domestic cups???.

Sorry to butt in to your board but I think you are wrong. I think too much confidence and not enough respect was shown. You can't go attacking the best teams in Europe away from home. Why do you think Rafa Benitez did so well with a very weak Liverpool side who won it in 2005?

Away from home, we sat back and defended for our lives. In fact in some games, when up against the best, we did the same at home.

You were too open and too attacking and Mancini realised this when it was too late, bring a defensive midfielder on for a striker.

You did get a difficult group but I still expect you to qualify from it. This will enhance your ability to attract even bigger players and perhaps then you won't have to thrown ridiculous wages at them. Also players will get experience and as a club, next year should be a lot better for City.

Just stop United winning the league this year and you'll have had a good season in my eyes.

If a money-no-object side can't qualify for the knockout stages the manager's not up to it.

Oh do one bale, the trick is to be in the champions league year on year, something your team us aiming for but will in my opinion not achieve, Liverpool will in my opinion overtake spurs as they can build and not rely on loaned players!

We started that game really well and had two strong penalty claims turned down. That's not to say that Bayern didn't deserve their win however, but we showed glimpses of what we are capable of against a very good side away from home. There is no disgrace to that result last night. The only disgrace was the actions of Tevez. Enough said about that though.

Yeah you're right - the trick is to stay in the CL year on year, the real trick is to do it without buying it

You think Liverpool will beat us to fourth this season? Have you been watching them at all?? At least you didn't put Arsenal ahead of us.

Haha arsenal! Am looking forward to your game at weekend!

And spurs have spent big money too so it's a bit cheeky to say that

Spurs have been in the CL for 12 consecutive years and their wage bill is lower than Woking's.

I think spurs will finish ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal this season.

In 5th place behind Man City, Man U, Stoke City and Everton.
