With Liverpool badly needing cover at centre back, is there a more realistic option than Conor Coady? He's a scouser, huge LFC fan and has already played for you in his youth. Still at a good age and English, surely he's an ideal target for you? I get that Wolves won't want to sell him, but Liverpool are a huge club and I think you'd be able to wrestle him away from them. He might not be a dream signing from abroad who has a classy name, but he's a quality defender. The only thing that could be a concern is that he doesn't really play in a two as Wolves play a different system.

I'd love Coady back at Liverpool but the problem is that he'd cost way more than he's worth. He's their captain and one of a few English men at the club.

Not because he isn't a good defender, but because he wouldn't fit into the system of a back 4 and would cost far too much.
Would be better finding a first choice CB and relegating the unreliable Gomez and Matip to the squad roles/fighting for their place imo. Coady certainly wouldn't be a first choice CB either.

I know this is a contradiction to what I said above but I would take Boly from Wolves. He is a proper defender and more or less wins every header.
