Dele Alli

As it seems to be the day for ridiculous articles...

Would you take Dele Alli at Arsenal? The lad is having a shocking time, pretty much for 2 years now. I don't even think it is a Mourinho thing, I think he was shiiit under Poch towards the end too. However, prior to that he was a free scoring midfielder. Maybe he needs a new challenge.
At his best he is a combatitive, good in the air, likes a tackle type. Mikel Arteta could, in my opinion, get him back to his best.

So if Spurs were to dump him, could he be the modern day Sol Campbell?

Leave your thoughts in the appropiate place below please.

Dele and Lingaard are the same type of player. Social media and selfies 1st. Sustaining a career in football 2nd. Especially now they've got money. To the point all they've produced on the pitch in ages is utter dross.

Lingaard is beyond help, Ali might have a chance but he needs a strong man manager that'll give him the almighty kick up the keyster he needs and a dose of reality, whilist giving him a cuddle.

Nah. We took Sol because he was their best. If we were to take anyone it would be their Arsenal fan striker, or Son ๐Ÿ‘

Good luck with that

I strongly disagree with this kind of lazy commentary.

Lingard has made the absolute best of his limited technical abilities through application and hard work. Sure, he's not good enough for where United want to be but I don't see that's his own doing at all. He's reached his potential and it is what it is.

Dele performed at a high level at an early age, partly because of his natural ability, and partly because of the team he was dropped into - Dembele, Eriksen, and Kane all hitting prime form when he was introduced. As a link player he looked great, and was afforded the space to demonstrate his skill.. like the incredible goal against Palace. But he never pushed on to build on that impact and add to his skill set. He could be our de Bruyne if he'd rounded out his play.

I think what we're seeing now is the reality of him not pushing on and evolving from that 20 year old that made the team. With Eriksen gone he's being expected to actually influence a game on his own and it's increasingly apparent he can't. Not great at dribbling past a player, not particularly quick or strong, not great at shooting or passing from any distance.. he's the best definition of a 'luxury' player. Stick him in a dominant Pep team or a PSG and he'll look class again. Put him in a team trying to get promoted and he'd do fack all.

I like Dele as a player and a character, but right now I'm fully behind Mourinho dropping him. For his own good, he needs to sort it out.

Top post.

I’ve never understood all that ‘Dele is the typical modern footballer, has everything on a plate’ nonsense

He had to come through the ranks at MK Dons before he got his move to the PL
