I remember back at school we’d visit the local gudwara (is that how it’s spelt?). They whip up a huge curry, a few cans of drinks and we’d stay until nightfall when the whole place lit up and then there were fireworks. Was great fun

mainly Hindu but Sikhs do celebrate it as well
Diwali is called the festival of light and is celebrated to honor Rama chandra
