What? The players are employees of clubs and yes really because that's literally what's happened. It's only UEFA who have a hard on for friendlies.

and to think there are still some numbnuts that don't think all international crap shouldn't be played this year.
all teams should refuse to send their players that they pay for.
the league has managed the pandemic pretty well but it's them that suffer when so many players come back injured or sick.

The internationals involve players flying all over the world, meeting up with players from numerous other teams. Every CL fixture involves two teams and is far easier to control exposure.

Perhaps, but it’s still a risk, and seems almost as if it’s used as a card to beat internationals which many hate anyway. Not surprised to see that CL etc which involves travel and therefore still risky fans still want to keep.

Meaningless friendly I would agree but if keep stuff like the nations league if the cL and europa also are kept.
