I’m not going to bother with the Pepe incident, we all know he was ridiculously silly doing what he did.
However I feel we have a more concerning issues. I always go back to that first game that Mikel took charge of against Chelsea at home, I felt that was the indicator of how we would set up under him. Even though we somehow lost that game. We saw something we hadn’t seen for a long time, a high pressing , energetic side that would create lots of chances. It was just a really encouraging sign of positive things to come for us and with the right players he would bring in, we would finally have the right structure needed to progress to the next level.
Well over a year since he took over, we now find ourselves in a situation where we haven’t scored from open play in nearly 8 hrs!!. That is a shocking stat, we sit deep and play with a back 5, particularly against teams who are below 10th in the league. You have Aubameyang on the edge of our own 18 yard box, so if we cleared the ball there would be no one challenging the covering player for the opposing side.
Why has he reverted to this type of negative style , where is the high press, why are we so deep?!. What happened to that not giving teams a sniff. I’m seriously near to feeling like I did during the last days of emery and Wenger. Where were the creative signings we badly needed, we left it til the last day of the transfer window to bring in Partey!. I wouldn’t have minded Willian for a season as a squad player but we give him 3 yrs and a regular starting spot. He’s finished as a regular , who is making these decisions!.
So many questions we still have and not a lot of progress, we take one step forward and two steps back. Teams will have watched that and seen so many weaknesses. Leeds should have won that.
Lack of the high press/creativity

I watched "The Arsenal Stadium Mystery" film(1939)
on tv the other day and I must say that it was a lot more entertaining than what was on display today.

Yeah it’s worrying that we always seem back to how bad we were before he took over. We seem to have now lost most of the good Arteta brought, we were very good at playing out the back and creating changes that way, but now the CB seem to not know what to do when the ball at their feet and the midfielders aren’t showing for the ball. The spacing between players is well off again, something which is did address when he first came, and we’re now conceding lots of shots again. The Defence is still not too bad, but even there we’re seeing some errors creep back.
We seemed to have totally stalled our development as a team after the FA cup win, don’t know if that made the management and players a bit too arrogant and thinking that most of the hard work was now done and they lost focus
Arteta does seem to have been figured out by most teams now which was going to happen eventually, it’s up to him to come up with something different now. But it looks a huge task because it’s hard to see what part of the game we’re even good at now, plus bar about 3 players the whole squad seem woefully short of form and confidence. If he can do it then maybe he is heading to be a top manager

I don’t get what you were watching against Chelsea. You just nicked a goal and dat back and allowed Chelsea just to apply wave after wave of attacks. Arsenal managed 3 shots and 0 on target for last 77 minutes of that match after taking the lead. I wanted Arsenal to hang on but it was only a matter of time before Chelsea won that game.

I’m talking bout his first game at the emirates we were all over them for at least 60 mins, even Lampard came out after the game and said they were lucky that day. We ran out of legs in the last half hour and didn’t put Chelsea away.

Yes that is that game. Arsenal just started strong and after they scored just sat back and invited wave after wave of attacks. That is the resaon why Arsenal managed just 3 shots in the last 77 minutes after scoring.

Hard to put Chelsea away if you create like 3 chances all game.

This has also been the case since Arteta got the job. I think his tactics are like anti Guardiola. The thing with Arteta is his squad he has is extremely weak. He thinks parking the bus and hoping they nick wins is only way to get results.
