They bang the equality, diversity and racism drums and then you have media companies like Sky and BBC purposely employing minorities, women, ethnics etc (regardless of their ability to do a job) purely to satisfy their thirst for diversity.

White men are the only people who can now be openly discriminated against in this country. It is on the grounds that white men have in the past benefited on privilege. So because my dad may have had privilege I can now be discriminated against. The reason I say this, I have had 5 times I was told I was the best person for a job/promotion I went for but was not getting it so it could be given to a woman or minority, yes FIVE. I also had twice during company restructures that jobs were being amalgamated and numbers reduced and I was chosen to be the one to be moved to a worse job so a woman/minority could keep the level I was at before rather than me.

I'm all for equality, but we will never have equality until everyone treats everyone else equally and there is no discrimination against one group in favour of any other. Equality must mean just that, everyone is equal.

They probably told the same thing to most applicants. Their choice might not take the job and they want to maintain a relationship with you in case they need to come back to you.

You were beaten by a better person in the interview mate. That's why you didn't get the job. It would be better if you confronted your failure instead of making excuses. In the past, White men always used to get the job ahead of everyone else and now that that's changing and they have to toil like everyone else and others are able to take opportunities away from them, some of them just can't handle this.

And part of making amends for the past is being conscious of where idioms and terminology comes from. "handbags" is a part of football vocabulary but, frankly, that's only because it was considered feminine and vacuous to fight without ripping each other's throat put. It was a way to call them silly and weak by calling them feminine. Make a ton of similar comments in a twenty minute stretch and you might get given a time out by the BBC and four columns in The Spectator about how you've been silenced. Which, of course, is a hilarious thought if you undertake as many as one (1) history class.

5 times, yes FIVE times plus a shunting. Would suggest it's far more likely that you've just not gotten the job because you weren't the best person for it. Also suggests that you're not destined to go any higher. Instead of blaming minorities and women, why don't you just accept you're either not that good at your job or people at your work hate you. Since they are both also very good explanations for you not getting jobs/promotions and likely both true.

Because your Dad had privilege AS A RESULT OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST OTHERS! The law has now removed the discrimination he UNFAIRLY benefited from. MEANING YOU will have to get your jobs on a more even playing field. Because unlike your dad, you won't be able to rely on racism and sexism eliminating candidates better than you. Removing an unfair advantage from you IS NOT discriminating against you.

For the record I'm not one for so called positive discrimination (oxymoron). Largely because it gives people like you this ridiculous argument that tearing down racist and sexist institutions which suppress others in your favour. Is somehow "unfair" to you.
