TAMMY/GIROUD BUT ARE WE OVERLOOKING SOMEONE

Hi people , seen the debates on Tammy playing or Giroud and who gets to the crosses etc in the Spurs game.
I think there is another option staring us right in the face.
Kai Havertz
He has played CF a good deal and half he's goals in the German league came in that position, I know German league is somewhat different but him and Werner could form a deadly duo
He is very good with he's feet and great touch and very good with he's heading and has the height to do it 6.2 feet

I don't know how flexible Lampard is as a manager but in the short time, does he have a history of changing up the system to suit his players.

I've said it before but I see you guys eventually settling on

Kante Jorginho/Kovacic
Ziyech Havertz Pulisic
Werner

once everyone is fit

TBF havertz has been out due to corona virus anyway

We have an embarrassment of riches ,which is a wonderful problem for Frank(and the club) to have, can only be positive for the future. Jorghino for me, is a bench player ,same as AC,but all of our front players can only improve the team whoever plays and for whatever reasons ie injuries suspensions whatever. So much to look forward to.

I think each game is different and should have a change of approach. i'd have giroud over tammy most the time, but especially against low lying sides as girouds link up is so good and we will rely on crosses.

For all tammys positives he's not a very rounded footballer yet.

The midfield two particularly Kante and Kova looks good on paper but just hasn’t worked in real life, I agree though it looks like a great team. Jorginho and Kante also doesn’t work. Mount has also been better than either so far this season - but again not sure if him and Kante would work in midfield two either.

We do seem much better balanced with the 4-3-3

To OP - I’m not clear on Havertz experience as CF. Is it right he was more of a false no.9 than spearhead of attack? Still this could suit Werner. In general though watching Kai play I would think he may be too languid to play as a front man.

We need Havertz in midfield. He’s the only real attacking midfielder we have in the squad. Mount benefits a lot playing the supporting role to him.

Hopefully CHO can find some form so we don’t have to use Werner as a winger.

I can't see Havertz succeeding in a false 9 role. I think he has the attributes of an attacking no 8 or no 10,but given we are now playing 4 3 3, he should be an 8 for us.

Jorginho has no long term future, & this leaves Mount out

possibly a touch lightweight too maybe...this was a problem with Tammy - but he seems to have filled out a bit now though...still like Bambi at times mind
