Dread to think what would happen...if Mendy, Chillwell, James and Kante (in his formidable back to best form) were unavailable for a long period. Untouchables.
I say James because can't rely on Azpi to produce the attacking output consistently, stylistically James is conducive to everything required for that fullback position under Frank.

Every other position has capable deputies, cover or depth.

We will only start missing the benefit of James's attacking output when we start getting on the end of his crosses.

He should be pretty pssed off by now given the low goal return agst some wonderful balls I to the box.

RJ should have about 10 assists this year lol

I'm meh about him

I appreciate he was value for money, and miles ahead of Kepa, and that I've been spoilt af by Cudicini, Cech & Courtois, but I just think he's alright. A lot of the things that shone out in YouTube clips of him have been present.

Thiago Silva's the signing of the summer (so far) for me. If only we could've got him in that 2012 window where we got Hazard/Azpl, etc... the difference he'd of made in the last eight years doesn't bare thinking about. Would've taken the captaincy after Terry I'm sure.

Potentially.

Same aura as Kante.
Humble background. Late bloomer. Difficult journey.
Goes about his business with efficiency, no fuss.
Influential at the back (akin to Kante transforming the midfield).
Easy to endear to.


Rennes fans were desperate to keep him.
Even go as far as saying that he's their best ever 'keeper (which is testament to how far he's come along and considering they had Cech) and we got him at a bargain.
Rennes fans were expecting double what we paid for him, Marina Granovskaia had other ideas.

Cech and Lollichon have found a gem.
