Lack of respect / recognition

I appreciate there has been some comments on this today on the
back of other posts, but I do think this warrants some specific discussion.

The actual facts are Spurs are top of the PL, and have been since beating City on the 21st November.

Spurs also have, by two clear goals, the best defense in the PL, conceding 9 goals in 11 games.

Going forward, Spurs have scored the third highest amount of goals, only 2 or 3 goals behind Chelsea and Liverpool.

They have just finished a three game schedule of City, Chelsea and Arsenal, picking up 7 from 9 points and conceding ZERO goals. All games the media and rivals assumed we would either lose or at least drop enough points to fall out of contention.

The whole team is at the top of their game, executing Jose's tactics to a tee, with only one blip in the freak result against West Ham.

Yet, on the back of all that, every media outlet and recognised pundit is putting Spurs down, refusing to even mildly recognise them as any sort of contender.

Amounst others I have today seen Sky only want to talk about our boring football. Even on CNN in America, they were almost having to contain themselves from laughing at Spurs achievements. In germany, a clip on twitter with Klinsman, the interviewer was so dissrespectful in implying "how could that team be top of the league"

Also on Twitter, Graham Roberts posted exactly the mood, tweeting "Am I honestly listening to this correctly we scored 2nd most goals in Prem conceding the least they continually say we were weak minded and now saying not nice to watch you can't make it up"

There are many more examples of what I consider to be really offensive bias across all media outlet, particularly when looking at positive spin continually being made with the likes of Utd, who lets be honest have been as far away from the title as us since Ferguson left.

Personally, I really hope Jose and the players use this constant negative reporting and opinions as a trigger to push us further forward. I do think this is getting near to the siege mentality of nobody rates us, but we don't care.

Thoughts ?

Liverpool had 30 years of no recognition / respect but you wouldn't have find many Liverpool fans moaning about Arsenal / Utd the way SteveF & Bitter Billy do about Liverpool.

Must have been hard getting no respect / recognition. You probably know the pain these boys are going through right now.

Guys, I fully understand everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it seems some of you have totally missed the point.

This disrespect is nothing to do with winning a cup or the season ending in December. It is about media outlets and well paid pundits refusing to even slightly acknowledge the progress we have made this season ( not last year or the year before, but the here and now ) personally I think media outlets who undertake interviews thinking Spurs as some sort of serious team as a joke is annoying.

Even more so is the constant positive strokes teams like Utd , Leicester and Wolves keep get..
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But that isn't true for the whole media. I have seen 3 pundits in the last 24 hours say you'll challenge.

Challenge isn't carrying it to the line...huge difference

Fack off you complete and utter mug, the media would be wannking off Pool regardless even if they were playing in League 2. You really are an obsessed, needy little mug, camped on the Spurs board every day, frantically searching for any post that so much as criticizes Varpool.

I honestly dont get why the media's opinions are so important to Spurs fans that it causes the to write lengthy bitter articles and comments about it anyway.

Isn't it enough that you're happy about the progress that Spurs have made - or is that the problem - that you need the media to validate your opinion because you're too insecure to feel any happiness about Spurs' current position?

I am very happy with Spurs current position. But it is not the media's place to have favourite teams like Liverpool. They are supposed to be strictly neutral, and give every club the same treatment.

The media are probably slating Jose, and not Spurs. They hate him, and he's more than burnt his bridges with them over the years.

Stop whining. You get nothing after 11 games. In the unlikely event you win the league, moan if you get no plaudits then.

Jose is all about siege mentality. He creates it in the dressing room and it eventually becomes part of the club fan base. Articles like this are a typhcal symptom of such.
