Klopp wants to bench Firmino. Why would he speak personally to Werner if that wasn't the case? He wasn't trying to sign werner to sit on the bench was he.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Werner didn't sign because Klopp himself said he wasn't guaranteed to start games, which is just one of the reasons why it broke down.

So actually yes, he was going to sign Werner to be an important part of the squad.

So I don't think he wants to bench Firmino, hence why he hasn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was because of money. Liverpool couldn't afford Werner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, that as well. I said my point was just one of the reasons.

It's not that they necessarily "couldn't afford" Werner, more that they wouldn't for what he was going to be, a player that was going to give competition to the squad.

His price, wages and squad status made signing Werner not worthwhile.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it's naive to think that Klopp would be naive enough to think he could take one of the world's top strikers and ask him to come be a rotation player.

Klopp would never be stupid enough to talk to Werner like this. He wanted Werner to replace Firmino. Do you think there's any Scenario where Klopp would think he could ask Werner to come be a rotation player and and Werner would be "Yeah sure fine, that sounds great"?

You know what, furrrk it I'm wrong. I must not be a massive idiot to be unable to see how amazing Roberto Drogoba Rooney Eto'o Lewandoski Kane Suarez Firmino is and to understand how it doesn't matter that he's a striker who scores less goals than many defenders because the fact that he creates 1.44 chances a game is what makes him the best striker in the world and I'm just a absolute furrrking moron for not understanding anything about football and not being blown away by the magnificience of Firmino's skill and talent.

Wow, thank you so much for enlightening me. I think I'm going to go watch some Firmino compilation of goals, I mean chances created, and go appreciate his brilliaince and genius. Thank you sincerely.

Is it not telling that every Liverpool fan defending Firmino has to ask first to disregard stats? Are stats worthless? Can you just disregard them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not worthless but they don't tell the whole story.

Drogba is considered one of the best strikers in EPL history, had some very modest scoring seasons.

Bergkamp is one of the best footballers we've seen, would you judge him by his goalscoring? Well you probably would, but most people wouldn't.

If he wanted Werner to replace Firmino, he would have signed him.

No there wouldn't be a scenario of this, hence why it didn't happen? Klopp and Liverpool couldn't offer Werner the wages and playing time he wanted, therefore they didn't sign him. That's why Werner said he would go elsewhere as he wanted guaranteed game time, which Liverpool did not offer.

Ignores what Point? That Giroud didn't score at the world cup? OK, cool. He's France's second highest goalscorer of all time, he clearly scores goals regularly for France.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The point I and others are making is, you can contribute and be a key cog in a team even if you don't score.
IMO you can't compare Firmino and Giroud by numbers.
