tbf i think some of what fans are referring to as "tactics" is better explained by "coaching"...and if players do make the same mistake constantly, some of the blame for that lies on the manager/coaches.

do we look well coached at set pieces? well drilled in our movement? do our strikers look like they have been tutored by someone who was a very good striker himself? did find it odd when cavani came in and people said he could teach martial/greenwood how to move as a striker, can't ole do that himself?

We have no discernable style or structure in our play

It sounds like you don’t understand what tactics are, no offence.

Man United aren’t a very well coached/drilled side. That doesn’t mean we play without tactics. Whether the tactics are right or not is a different matter. But they exist.

He’s not a fall guy. It’s just an obvious issue with his game. Considering we don’t have another right back it’s difficult to take him out. I’m sure they’re trying to work on it in training, because it’s one of the most obvious weaknesses in his game. But sometimes these things don’t just get fixed in training, it can take a defender years and years to really iron out their weaknesses when it comes to awareness, and for lots of players they never do.

Non taken.

In simple terms to use the cambridge definition

A planned way of doing something

We dont seem to have a plan.

If we do it's relying on individual brilliance. Which is a tactic I guess

But that’s more down a multitude of issues that are to do with the players, manager and coaches, rather than there not being any tactics.

There’s always a plan.

The questions each week can include: is it an effective plan? Are the players executing the plan well? And if the plan isn’t working, can the coaching staff work out what to do to try to change the game?
