Wide open

This league is wide wide open this season.

United can go a point ahead of Chelsea (who are considered title contenders), with a game in hand, if we win on Thursday against Sheffield United.

Any top 6 team that gets any sort of form, consistency or rhythm, can have a shot at the title this year I reckon.

I don't see why they'd have to sell Sancho for any less considering he is very much valued there and they know United will pay ridiculous money if they really felt they had to, if your recent transfer history is anything to go by.
-----

1. Drop in his form.
2. A year less left on his contract.
3. Less money about due to covid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’ll sign a new contract in the new year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not if he wants to move he won't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
His contract has been extended, along with a very nice little pay rise and I would bet bonus each spring.

They’ll probably wave an additional EUR100k p/w at him for another year to secure his value.

And he’ll take the accompanying signing fee, guaranteed additional EUR15M in wages, and opportunity for his agent to negotiate an even higher wage at United/Real/PSG/wherever when he finally moves.

If he doesn’t take the bait, they can always offer to include a buyout clause, which he doesn’t have already.

Dortmund won’t be offering him that sort of money to sign a new contract. Especially not when Raiola will kick up a fuss over Haaland’s wages.

They already extended his contract and increased his wage to secure his value. He is supposedly on 190k a week. I don't see Dortmund paying him much more than that. Certainly not 100k more. It'd blow their wage structure apart.

They’ve done it twice already. That’s partly why there’s good reason to think they’ll do it again.

If they’re bothered about the wage structure, they’ll offer him a smaller pay rise and a larger signing fee (or loyalty bonus - whatever you want to call it).

Hmmm. I'll be surprised if he signs another contract there now. Might happen, but I think he will be on the move come the summer.

Maybe he feels differently now, but when he’s been offered hard cash to add an extra season on to his contract previously, he’s taken it.

Dortmund isn’t a terrible club for him to be at. He’s spoken repeatedly about being happy there. He hardly seems to be itching for a move.

You could be right. I personally think that he would have happily moved in the summer had a deal been struck, but as you say, wasn't itching for a move and possibly still isn't. But we will be another year down the line and he might be ready for a move back 'home'. The impact of COVID might even play a part in that. He may be feeling more isolated than usual right now.

Because they had a big away win like Spurs did at Old Trafford?

Football genius.

Wasn’t it winning it at a canter originally or am I making that up?
