I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching Spurs this season. A breath of fresh air and looking their best in years, I thought José may have finally changed. My mind told me ‘the old José would’ve got rid of Ndombele, the old José wouldn’t have brought Bale back, the old José wouldn’t have beat United away 6-1’ and so on.
I was bitterly disappointed, then, when yesterday José reverted to type. A relapse if you will. In the first half Spurs were shocking, it reminded me of the game at Anfield before he was sacked 2 years ago. The only difference is that Son’s goal papered over the cracks and kidded people into believing it was a José masterclass.
Say what you want about the second half, but it was telling to me that José took off Lo Celso and Son when it was still to play for. I thought they were both threatening to Liverpool yesterday, but José hooked them off to get his precious point; a move that badly backfired. Spurs were clinging on in the last 15 and the pressure told in the end.
Jose: Old Habits

Spurs won’t win the league this year. I think they will win a trophy though. I also think if spurs keep Jose, all their top players and sign a couple more in the summer, they will have a good shot at the title next year.
Klopp took a few years to get Liverpool to where they were last season. Jose has only had a year at spurs.

So approaching the busy Christmas period and at the European knockout stages, where does everyone think Spurs are realistically.
Now for the difficult one. Personally, whilst we are doing considerably better than I thought, I do feel this one is beyond us."

OP
Not sure you can blame Jose for getting 10 points out of 15 after playing Liverpool. United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Best return of any of the so called biggies.
He took off Lo Celso because Klopp and his staff were trying to intimidate the officials by getting him sent off. I think that needs looking into. When you have officials being got at, then you are going down a very slippery slop.

Come on guys, we ( Spurs fans ) are some of the most negative people around, and always moaning about something, rather than appreciating the obviously better position we are in now compared with the last couple of years.
Whilst like most, I cannot stand the vile, arrogant, self entitled Liverpool fans, you will never hear anything negative from them regarding their team.
Liverpool have only just started winning trophies in the last year or so. Prior to that, they had won the same amount of trophies as us since 2008. One League cup each.
This year they are miles below the level of points they were this time last year.
Yet none of them moan about this, or see anything other than their team winning the league.
We, on the other hand are never happy with our lot. Always moaning anything from we should have done better, we threw this or that away, to Jose is not moving us forward.
Jeez. Get over yourselves and start enjoying supporting Spurs. If you can't, then swop sports.

Agreed Steve, I cannot believe with have supporters hoisting the white flag after just a third of the season and Spurs sitting just a few points of the top, in 2nd place. Unbelievable. And I am very, very disappointed with our fan base. Could you imagine United, Chelsea, even Arsenal putting up the white flag, after being in such a great position coming up to Xmas. Very poor show.

So our bench we’re trying to get a player sent off now and bullied Jose into into substituting him
Really

Thanks. To be fair, we all ( should ) know, some clubs are title winners and some aren't. Its just in their history / DNA, what ever you want to call it. Spurs had this for a couple of years in the early 60's, but since then have been a cup side.
I am never seeing 60 again, and always have hope that I will see my club win the league before I go, but am always realistic.and try to enjoy the good times ( like now ) it may happen it may not, but people getting annoyed and expecting titles after following them for a few years really need to get real and just enjoy being a supporter. If they want titles, then support Bayern or PSG, for all the fun that gets them.

Steve, every supporter should live in hope. Otherwise what is the point of supporting your side. I reckon even Marine think they can beat Spurs. You have to always believe.

Culer - Well here's a guy who doesnt understand football !
Liverpool last lost at home in the league in 2017 or somtehing like that, so not necessarily a place to go toe to toe with them.
Tight first half by Spurs and the game plan would have been to stay in the game - try and hit them on the counter, and build into the game....and guess what. It worked like a charm.
Within 15 minutes of the 2nd half, after a tactical change, we could and should have been 3-1 up - Bergwijn missed a one on one (had already missed one) and Kane missed a free header from 5 yards,
Those chances were better than any chance LFC had in the entire game, and you can probably add Sons goal and Bergwijns first one on one to that list.
So how does a team that creates 4 clear cut chances - 3 of them one on ones - be criticised for anything other than failing to be clinical.

It is just one game...It is disappointing but I hope we can pick ourselves up and go on a good run in the next 2 weeks.
