........ LEEDS UNITED !!
how i came to be LEEDS UNITED. born in stockport. my brother is red manc, 9 years older than me & we had to share a bed. when foota came into my life & the ripe old age of 5 ish, i couldn't choose between red or blue (please forgive me) as all my mates were either or......my brother used to try get me to follow manu. when sleeping he found it funny to tie a manu scarf to my leg or wrist or what ever.....
along came the '73 cup final. now the fa cup final & the grand national were and still are a must watch in the household. used to save up as much as i could, do deeds, some dirty deeds to get some coin for the big event. on the big day go to the local shop, get as much pop & sweets as i could. get home & watch from the start, i think was 11 am? anyway i digress....... this final was the beginning of a life of LEEDS UNITED. sat watching i said to my brother (who is a red manc) who do you want to win? i can still hear the words.........'i hate leeds i want sunderland' i said 'i want leeds then'. yeah yeah yeah, we lost & he took the p!ss all day.
went to school the following monday & a mate said have you decided yet red or blue ? i said 'I AM LEEDS!!' 47 years later LEEDS is in my blood, my heart, my soul...........
how you came to be .....

Born in a suburb of Bolton, my mum bought me a full Man U kit for primary school footy games.
I didn't really support any team until the age of 10. My mate Ste across the back was following Leeds and I'd seen them a lot on telly by then. I started following Leeds United then - a 46 year roller-coaster ride!
My mate became a Bolton supporter shortly after getting me addicted to Leeds. I can never understand how people can change their allegiances.

How I came to be....
It was a warm and beatiful summer night, when my parents laid down on a beach in Kiel. Many of my brothers and sisters were lost that evening. Vanishing between grain of sands. Me; I always had a fighting spirit. And that's were I met Leeds. Through the fighting spirit

Born and bred in Harehills. Was a Leeds fan by the time I got to junior school.
Didn’t hate Manu back then, in fact I’d be Bestie in the playground games. I also had a soft spot for Chelsea and they were my second subuteo team.
How things change. As Manu became lost in prawn sandwiches and corporate slime they became a team I always wanted to lose.
Chelsea took me a bit longer but eventually I saw the light.
One brother somehow followed Liverpool but I never understood him anyway. The other was more into actually playing. He liked Leeds but wasn’t as passionate as me. Maybe because he was twenty years older than me.

Can't recall the exact moment I fell in love with LUFC, but I do recall my dear, late Dad putting his arm around my shoulder after we lost the cup to Chelsea, saying, 'not to worry son, it's only a game.'
I didn't speak to him for 3 months.

Mum was a Hunslet lass, born and bred (and my God, she had a tough life) so I grew up from a babe in arms being Leeds ... never knew or wanted anything else ... also privileged to have lived through the Revie era as a young lad. Such tough but happy days😁👍💙🏆.

Hunslet historically produces excellent writers, including you!
Happy Christmas to you in these difficult times.

Remember it well! We used to get right at the front of the Scratching Shed, behind the goal. What a time to be a young Leeds fan.
Dad played golf with Don and he brought the team to Temple Newsam quite a few times when I was a teenager.
Great days.
