We know that we need at least 2 midfielders this January. Ideally an upgrade on Elneny and an AM to fill that massive gap we have. Or 2 AM if we can and deal with Elneny till summer.
One of our targets moved to RB Leipzig. So what are the board doing now? We are in dire straits and we SHOULD be sorting out a deal NOW so that players arrive at the club on January 1st. But knowing our club, we will haggle and have a hard time making a deal and a player will come in on January 27th...and it will not be a player that upgrades us properly.
In other news Sokratis, Mustafi, Ozil and Luiz all have contracts expiring in June. We CANNOT renew any of these! We must also look to offload Bellerin, Xhaka, Lacazette, Willian, one of Chambers or Holding, Kolasinac and Nketiah. It won't happen but that is how much deadwood we have at the club.

There’s a śhit tonne of work to do. Either they back Arteta and bring in some players that will work for him, if they actually believe he’s the man who will lead this club forward, or if they cant do that, sack him and replace him with someone who can get this squad away from relegation
I know we can’t overturn the required 10 players needed in January to get us on a good path, but if the willingness is there at ownership level I’m sure they could push the boat out for a couple of players who want more than just to coast through games at least.
How we are now is totally untenable, and if it carries on it could have a significant negative effect on this club, and make the monumental task we already have even harder. Decisive action is needed ASAP, but the club have pretty much made every wrong decision possible for a long while, so I can’t say I trust the set up to sort this out now

The good old "sell everyone" strategy.
Obviously we have to ignore the fact we couldn't sell them in the last window, couldn't even sell players like Torreira and Guendouzi. But, yeah, sell Kolasinac - I'm sure there are clubs queueing up to sign a crap full back who is on £130k a week.

A new manager would be my number one priority, the squad is easily good enough to stay up and even snatch a place in Europe given how inconsistent everyone else is.
A single January signing might really help and is within the realms of realism. Selling a load of players no one wants due to low quality and monstrous wages isn't gonna happen. I understand several will be ending their contracts in summer though so giving a new manager from now until summer to understand the squad is our best bet.
From there, with wages freed up and with a manager who knows the squad we could make real headway.

Didn't realise Buendia was 4th for assists in the PL last season and he's top for them in the Championship right now, seems like a no brainer at his age, even if he's not the final solution/target he'll add depth in that role.

Unfortunately, we DO need to ship 12-14 players. It's a testament to how poorly we have recruited for the past 4 years or so. If I could get Kolasinac to go for free just to get him off the wage bill, I would. Maybe that is something Arsenal need to look at with some of the players...allowing them to leave for nothing as long as they forgo any loyalty bonuses and they can make as much or more than they make at Arsenal because the buying team has not spent any money on a transfer fee.
