Best XI

I'm not sure this is a straightforward question - When everyone is fit and given what we now know about some of our new players, what is our best XI with 4 and 5 at the back?

Here is a 4-2-3-1 starter for 10 (open for debate):

----------- Leno
AMN Holding Gabriel Tierney
----- Partey Ceballos
--- Pepe Martinelli Saka
----------- Auba

Not so sure about our best #10, and Holding as our best partner for Gabriel doesn't quite sit right, but in a 4 he seems a more reliable option than Luiz

Oh.

Out of interest, why Pepe ahead of ESR/Balogun/Nelson? I would gladly choose those 3 ahead of Pepe.

Yeah, was thinking too tbh. With that formation I'd much rather have Nelson supporting Bellerin than Pepe. Would even push Saka further forward, and have Smith Rowe in midfield.

All a much of a muchness. First of all, neither ESR nor Balogun are wide attackers, so wouldn't even consider them options in that role. ESR would be an alternative to AMN or Saka, while Balogun would back up Martinelli. Nelson has had chances and yet to prove himself, so it doesn't really matter if it is him or Pepe really.

Ceba is controversial, but I'm thinking like Wenger did, and putting a midfielder out wide like Nasri or Ramsey sometimes. Can't be any worse than Pepe and Willian!

I'm not sure who "Garbriel" is either?

Understood. Fair enough.

I would probably go for:

Leno
Luiz Gabriel Tierney
AMN Partey Xhaka Saka
Pepe Auba Martinelli

I really don't want Xhaka there but he's the best passer and hopefully with Partey and Gabriel next to him he'll be less exposed.

It's so hard. So many players not in form. Do we pick them based on current form? Or based on previous for. When all was better???

Current form/energy/desire

Leno
Cedric Luiz. Gabriel. Tierney
Partey. Elneny
Reiss Nelson. ESR Saka
Martinelli

If everyone was playing to their potential...(not even sure really)

Leno
Bellerin Luiz. Gabriel. Tierney
Partey Ceballos
Saka Ozil Martinelli
Auba

I think we are VERY imbalanced. our right side is shyyyte. Marinelli, Saka and Auba all come in from the left. Only Pepe and Willian on the right wing and both are being outshine by Reiss Nelson who has played in fits and starts.

I guess what I am saying is...even if everyone was fit, I have no idea who the best 11 are anymore. I miss the days of the past when we all knew what our best 11 was

Lehmann
Lauren. Toure. Campbell Cole
Ljunberg Vieira. Gilberto Pires
Bergkamp Henry

Think this would be my team too - is a good team but has some options for rotation without weakening too much

Bellerin out for Ceba and AMN to right back, Pepe out for ESR with Saka playing further forward
