Random question:
The UK have ordered 100 million doses of the Oxford vaccine. I saw in the news today that apparently it’s more effective than first thought.
The vaccine requires two doses, so the 100 million we’ve ordered is that
50 million X2
Or
100 million doses which INCLUDE both jabs
Anyone know?

I think there's 15m people they've targeted for vaccination, after which we can start to roll back all the lockdowns and remove the restrictions, according to the papers this morning that is. 1m done already.
We should not be vaccinating everybody. Total waste when there will never be enough vaccines to cover the world's vulnerable population.
I'm a healthy 29 year old I don't need it. I'd take it if offered (to avoid the ridiculous antivax rubbish) but don't think we should be.

The point is the vaccine stops you getting Covid and spreading it to other vulnerable people, even if you're not at great risk personally.
The vaccine isn't 100% effective and there's plenty of vulnerable people that can't even take vaccines.

Also there's a healthy 22yo girl at work who had it months ago and is stuff suffering badly. Uses to walk miles every day and now is puffed out after a 3 minute walk. No one knows when or if that will ever end. It's more than just deaths. Not sure the NHS would be able to cope with thousands more people with long term chest problems either.

Classic anecdote of the mate’s aunt’s cousin who did get it a bit worse. It doesn’t change the broad statistics about risk. There are some outliers of course, as you’d expect on any disease ever, or further to that, any outcome ever.

Someone at my work got it, says they’re really struggling with the long term effects of it (they have an underlying health condition) yet they upload videos every weekend of them self at house parties getting bladdered and not social distancing. Seriously...

Not sure it's just anecdotal. There's a reason there's a lot of research going in to it. It's the sort of thing that won't show up on statistics as people aren't ( and aren't being encouraged to) seek medical treatment for it

Exactly. Regardless of what we do some people will still contract it and die from it, the same way people die from pneumonia and flu etc. Death is a fact of life, the scythes swing is remorseless - only the strong survive. At this point we need to focus on getting society and the economy back on track.

Only the strong survive seems to counter the whole just vaccinate the vulnerable so the whole world can be covered.
