I've seen many people mention that we may need a new RB with more attacking attributes.
However, AWB is a great defender with rapid recovery pace. I don't, think he's great in the air but I think his attributes would compliment Harry Maguire and vice versa.
He's such a great tackler, he should be starting for us and he would make up for Harry's lack of pace.
His link up play isn't amazing but he has plenty of players around him who can be creative.
And in the meantime we could find a Telles equivalent for the RB position but my main concern is finding a suitable partner for Harry to take the pressure off the midfield, so we can field more positive midfield players that don't have to protect the defence as much..
Thoughts?
AWB as a CB Partner for Harry?

Just play Axel.

He looked better defensively at RB recently than some of AWB's recent performances

Yep. So why would you play AWB in the middle where a mistake is more likely to result in a goal? Axel has all the attributes we need in a partner for Maguire. I can't understand why he hasn't bad a proper chance

Exactly Tuanzebe deserves on opportunity. Been wrapped in cotton wool too much.

The more I watch AWB the more I am convinced we wasted 50m. He has a decent last ditch tackle on him but poor passing, reading of the game and poor attacking ability creates more issues at RB than solutions
Would he be useful as a CB? In a 2? Not sure, maybe in a 3. The way he defends and passes are quite reminiscent of "Mike" Smalling who was shipped out promptly.

Eric Bailly looking great in the first half against Villa. Needs to stay fit.

People are too polarised in their opinions here. They seem to jump from one extreme to another. One moment you're the best thing since slice bread and the next you're a waste of money.
AWB and Maguire were seen as good signings this time last year. Now both are considered waste of space and money (Maguire was overpriced, that has been agreed but he isn't as bad as some say he is).
Wasn't long ago people wanted Bailly out due to his injuries and brainfarts. Smalling, until he became "Our best defender" while out in loan at Roma was wanted out by many here. People wanted Blind shipped off. Then he was and Ajax did well and people started asking why we sold him and didn't use him more.
AWB can improve and he's crossing has improved from when he first arrived. We do need a CB with pace as well as the other abilities you want in a modern defender more than a RB and that's due to our pacier CBs can't stay fit for long.

No, not by everyone. But I didn't see many complaints about AWB (other than Him going forward).

I can safely say my opinion of him has been the same since the start of last season
