Listening to the RD 'phone in we sound like a team in a real crisis or maybe a real team in a crisis. Somebody mentioned this detachment that we have from the club and the team now - I know what that means and the more this 'takeover' consume our conscious, the more detached we feel. Is that really what's up with the club? I know the rot has become less rotting but I s'pose it is the Derby Way. Seriously I just want to get back to watching from Row MM again.

Fresh from the misery of Rotherham, we go to premier league side Bournemouth who are looking to close the gap on Swansea in second. Remember being in the top 6?

We need another 28 points or so from 23 game stay stay up - draws are now passé - we need wins but I'm worried about where they will come form. The rot started in 1976 after losing to Man Utd in the semi-final of the FA Cup and has continued to this day.

Anyway, lets have some cheery news......contributions below...

Team news:-

Roos
Wisdom
Shinnie
Bielik
Jozwiak
Byrne
Kazim-Richards
Clarke
Evans
Buchanan
Knight (c)

Subs: Forster, Forsyth, Bird, Waghorn, Sibley, Whittaker, McDonald, Gordon, Mitchell-Lawson

Mike t W leaves PP on an undisclosed fee.

MTW wore the 6 shirt as did other greats like MacKay, McFarland, Stimac, Ross McLaren and others. I'm gutted that this wonderful player has gone and insist that Derby County retire this shirt.

How could I forget Richard Keogh from my list of our famous number sixes? I do apologise for my omission.

£2 million we owe him for an unfair dismissal. this will kaibosh any new signings. I think we'll be OK with what we've got though, as long as we don't get too many injuries.

Is that true? How, with all the HR advice available do we manage to dismiss someone without ensuring it was legal. He was a numpty but we still miss him

MM should be responsible for paying Keogh. Take out an IVA and pay RK a pound a month towards the compensation.

I agree.

Club captain, willingly got in a car with a pi55ed-up driver, got a career threatening injury, (and which I suspect blew a hole in any insurance pay-out), but allegedly wins an unfair dismissal tribunal?

MM should sue his lawyers.

I said on one of radio Derby's facebook streams at the time that Derby sacked Keogh that Derby would struggle to justify sacking him. Looking at the incident from a non Derby fans perspective, Lawrence and Bennett got a wrap on the knuckles and Keogh lost his livelihood. I know Keogh wasn't available to play because of the injuries he sustained, due to his own misjudgment, nonetheless the club should have dismissed all three or none.

I think you are right Ken. The line the club took about only Keogh being sacked because his actions meant he was unavailable to do his job always seemed a bit thin. A lawyer would say that while getting into the passenger seat of a car while drunk and not putting on a seat belt is stupid he couldn’t have reasonably anticipated the full consequences.

Keeping the guilty employed won't have helped our case either. Blanket treatment for all of them would have been more difficult to argue against.

Keogh was stupid, but he was also the victim, but got the most severe punishment.

I was scouting out some Huddersfield Town fan sites and it's clear our actions damaged his reputation beyond what he did too, with plenty saying they don't want a drunk driver signing for them. His name was the one in the papers associated with this more, as we sacked him, so fans of other clubs are jumping ton conclusions.

No money, no investment, no transfers, no fans.

No problem

Keogh doesn't even drive I believe so don't understand why fans blame him for the accident but as for being Captain and getting into the motor when he knew the driver had plenty taken, deserved what he got.

2 million, must be a big window.

Keogh was club captain & should have curtailed the night before it got out of hand. Not one of them are short of money that the couldn't afford a taxi.
As club captain he had the responsibility to make sure while he was there that none of his team mates did something that would be to detriment to themselves or the club.
I'm a manager & if my supervisor had done the same I would have had them out of company ASAP.
