Regarding Islam Feruz the Somanlian boy Celtic single handedly saved from becoming a pirate Lennon has got a cheek with his comments
'It's probably endemic of the modern game. It's very difficult when a player's head has been turned whether it be for financial reasons or ambition. Look at [Cristiano] Ronaldo, even he left Manchester United for Real Madrid.
'It's difficult to keep players happy if they think their future lies elsewhere.
'Younger players, again I wonder how much part the agents play in it in terms of turning their heads and telling them about this, that and the other.'
Em did you lot not do the exact same thing to the former Rangers youth player Dylan McGeough, Lennon even went round to Dylan's house to convince him to abandon Rangers and sign for Celtic and offered him more money than we could with us still under the previous Murray regime. Celtic are giving him 3k per week despite being nowhere near the 1st Team.
So get it up you Celtic hopefully Feruz breaks into the Chelsea team and becomes a big player for Scotland while McGeough fades into nothing.
Lennon = Hypocrite

If you were 16 and offered a wad of cash to move to a different club, what would you do? Can't blame Islam at all. Everyone thinks that he owes celtic cause Tommy Burns helped him out. If it wasn't TB, then someone else would've helped him. If he had been a mediocre player, then no one would've given two hoots what happened to him.

I have to say I agree that whining about losing a player due to financial temptations is just nonsense.
Both of the OF have been doing it for years.
Take - Kris 'Fatty' Commons are you seriously telling me that he genuinely believed celtic were the better team to go to?
Aye an extra £5k a week better...........

At the end of the day football is a business.
I am sure Celtic arent kidding themselves on here - they were so nice and supportive to Feruz, moved his family to get him into a better school for one reason only. They thought he was going to be a cracking player who would do a good turn for celtic then be punted on in a few years for big bucks.
There are plenty of other immigrants who still live in the poorer areas and go to the poorer schools. Celtic havent moved any of them on because theres no reason to.
Celtic are not a humanitarian organisation - they are a PLC.
This is not having a dig at Celtic at all. Its just football. Its a business, celtic are a business.
The only thing that would worry me slightly is that if Celtic actually believe in the Celtic Family nonsense rather than that being how they just market the brand to the gullible masses. If Celtic believe that Feruz owes them something for being welcomed into that 'family' then they are kidding themselves on.
If thats the case then I think the events around Feruz show just how naive and slightly comical that viewpoint is. Celtic Family PLC doesnt really ring true.
