Wtf is going on? Ole loses a couple of games and the media are all over him like flies around dog s**t. Job is to big for him, he was too inexperienced, United need a proven manager etc etc etc blah blah blah.
I understand that a United manager comes under a certain amount more scrutiny than any other manager, it comes with the job. However, apart from a few murmurings this morning he's got nothing compared to what Ole gets, despite their dreadful form. Why? (Or is the clue part of the title of my post?)

Losing tonight then you'll see the Ole out fire brigade rise again

Very true, even a draw.

Ole been in management longer and also had that spell with Cardiff where they got relegated. That added to the narrative that he wasn't the best manager. Lampard is a novice and almost got Derby promoted before Chelsea, which people would see as doing a good job. If he had come into the Chelsea job having previously been with a relegated team I think we'd see more scrutiny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think there's a lot in these two...Ole was in the same position not long ago
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There probably is a bit of bias towards Lampard due to him being English and the big name he is in English football. I'm sure most English people including those in the media would want to see a young English manager be a success. But yeah, if we are to explain why Ole had got it more than Lampard without the bias angle, I think the fact Ole was not a success with Cardiff makes it easier to think he isn't/wasn't up to the job at a big club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And Lampard was a success with Derby?
Ole has won things whether you rate the league/team or not. He didn’t have the best team in said league either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did a good enough job at Derby while he was there yes. It wasn't brilliant but you can't put a manager getting an unfavoured team near to promotion on the same success range as a manager who comes into to a poor club and does nothing to help them avoid relegation.
For all the good stuff Ole did with Molde, stuff being done in a league as weak as that will tend to get overlooked by the media.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were they unflavoured, I could be wrong but I thought they’d been in the play off positions for a few seasons beforehand
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah maybe so. He got them as close as they had in a while to promotion let's say so it can still be deemed as having done a good job.

Ian Holloway got Blackpool promoted to the Premier League, I doubt Chelsea would have fancied him as the next manager. It's just the ex-hero romance. It's bought Ole a lot of goodwill as well.

It is quite funny though seeing espn and talksport ex players/pundits talk up likes of Lampard and Arteta and laugh at Solskjaer nearly every game saying he should be sacked every week and how great Lampard and Arteta is.
There was a segment on ESPN saying who out of Arteta Lampard and Solskjaer would win the league and they said Arteta has the least chance due to squad but is the best manager tactically while Lampard has the squad to win it.
When they mentioned Solskjaer they laughed at him saying they have no chance to do anything and he is completely clueless and should be sacked let alone challenge for the title when we had the most points since Fernandes arrived in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll tell you what the problem is regarding ESPN. They hired a bunch of ex-Liverpool players for their expert analysis and punditry. Those idiots can't keep their biases out of it. I'm pretty sure I saw Craig Burley hold back tears after we went top a few weeks ago. I only watch for the salt mines they create

Remember when Chelsea had dominated and it was all doom and gloom for SAF and Man Utd and we won the league in 06-07 season playing amazing attacking football. The fact this season we scored 6 in a game and it wasn’t even clinical tells me we can win it this season. Even 5 in a CL game against a side who had an amazing away record and usually don’t concede much. When we are behind we come back instead of losing like we usually did since SAF left or barely drawing.

Any Manchester United manager is going to have more expected of him than a Chelsea manager. I don’t think the criticism of Ole has been unfair.

Chelsea had like the most trophies won and trigger happy owner. The only thing Lampard has is Abramovich being on good terms with him. To be fair I don't think he deserves to be sacked as he has been unlucky in a few games.

Man United draw in more of an audience than Chelsea. Its why we are written about more than others. If Frank was at United, he'd have been getting it in the neck as much as Ole has up to November.
They have been quite lenient with Arteta at Arsenal and murmers of Frank getting sacked has come about.
Personally, I think this is the wrong time to sack any of these managers. This season will be and is a weird season. Arsenal and Chelsea can easily recover. Take stock at the end of the season and then decide to either stick or bring in someone new.
