I said a few times on here that he's a bit poo.
He has a world class delivery but he can't dribble, doesn't have blistering pace and is an average defender at best. Klopps system got the best out of him for a while but this is his true form.

I see. I guess a lack of back up doesn’t help. They’ve relied so heavily on their full backs and front three, without adequate back up, that they don’t have much other choice with their selections I suppose.

He’s a player who could be top class, if he can sort out his defending.. I like him from an England sense, and on what he could offer. Great vision and delivery, the sort that you can’t really coach, a little Beckham like in that way, but has always looked suspect defensively. I’m sure he will improve a bit, but I don’t think it’s his ‘natural position, didn't klopp convert him from midfield to right back?

True
I thought they did a great job with Thiago and Jota additions but both of their integrations have been hampered by injuries. Was a bit surprised they didn't sign a CB even in the summer.

I think the issues stem back a lot further. It’s been years in the making due to how much they’ve played.

That was dire to watch. It must even been worse to have played in it.
Confidence is completely shot. 6 hours and not a single goal scored. Top clubs, bottom clubs, it doesn’t seem to matter.
Even this, “some teams gonna get a right spanking” is somewhere over the horizon.
Gini? For gawd sake get him to sign a new contract.
Our two, world class full backs. They’re each looking tired. Each was nullified tonight.
Plenty effort by the Reds, but, at times, too too slow, to predictable.
Well done Burnley, fully deserved the three points.
The target must now be realistically top four. Anything more would be a bonus.

Won the league last season, what on earth are we supposed to be bottling?!

He's not bad, just going through an awful bit of form. His qualities aren't showing as well as they can, evident for all to see, but it's really exploiting his weaknesses big time.
18 crosses, 0 completed I believe, alongside giving the ball away a few times as well. McNeil sized him up (as he had every time I have seen him play against TAA) and had the beating of him as well.
He's quite clearly not a bad player, but looks to be well short on confidence and concentration as well.

I think it's a combination of injuries, the weirdness of this season (no fans), and them finally having won the PL and not quite sure how to cope with defending it.

Trent has a really good range of passing, if he can improve his awareness of positioning he could be a really good cm.
Think he's suspect defensively, right now particularly, but I'm sure he'll return to form.
