Hello all,
Well first of all it's great to be back, I've been up to my neck in work for the past few months so 606 as had to take a back seat, but now I have more time on my hands and what better way to spend it than talking about Blues?
Sadly I couldn't make it down to Maribor, so I'm watching online; so far it seems that we're playing good football but lacking that cutting edge in front of goal. Burke looks lively on the wing and hopefully Redmond is on the bench if we need pace late on. The obvious talking point is the Doyle mistake that led to the goal, fair enough it was a bad mistake, but I don't want to slate the guy when otherwise he's had a good game and the back pass from Spector wasn't the smoothest I've ever seen.
At HT it's 1-0 and I just wanted to ask you guys how much you think Hughton should focus on getting past the group stage? If we go on a bad streak there's not much point going all out to go through when we could potentially sacrifice our league form like with the cup last season. Is the risk of losing league form worth the European success with the players it will attract, especially if we need to focus on promotion?
All thoughts welcome
KRO and great to be back.

I agree, great moral to come back and to pick out a few Burke and Beausejour played brilliantly. Roll on Forest

JH baggie I think you should look at the facts before you make sweeping statements like that: We are currently 19th in the Championship with two games in hand over most on 8 points. It may seem wishful thinking, but 6 points would see us move up to 7th ahead of Hull if other results go our way, if that tells you nothing else, let it show that this early on the league is way too close to make criticisms like that. Furthermore, Baggies currently sit at 19th in the Premier League with 4 points from 6 games- not exactly survival form. I agree it's also early in the EPL but I guarantee you that Blues' odds of staying up in the Championship (did you mean get promoted or are you just stupid) are far greater the West Brom's of staying in the Premier League. I actually like your club and fans, you play good football, don't WUM for no reason and at least do some research.

I think we should play as best we can, for as good a result as we can get, in every game that comes our way this term. Difficult and a difficult job for CH to balance players, squads, injuries, tiredness with tactics, performance and results, but he is doing a stunning job so far. Totally behind Chris. We will learn as we go through this, and like winning a major trophy, being in and competing well in a European competition adds significant character to the club.

Because we essentially have a new team and new manager, although the European games put extra fatigue and risk of injury, they also help us to i) find out our best side, best combinations and build partnerships ii) gel the players together as a team iii) bring back injured players. These factors will be essential in keeping is in the top half of the Championship. KRO
