ENIC Out

We can debate all day as to whether Jose should stay or go. The biggest problem is the owners.

If we’re being honest, our squad is a mid-table squad, sprinkled with a few top class players. We’ve always been beneath our peers in terms of expenditure and it’s telling on the pitch. Even if we look to the other side of North London, look at the wages they've afforded for a joke of player like Ozil. £72mn for Pepe or whatever his name is. At least they do their utmost to attract and pay top quality players even if they turn out to be carp. Look at us, Doherty, Sissoko, Winks, Sanchez, Davies I could go on. They’re all garbage mid table players who could not get into any other top 4 side. We could have a team of top class managers, Poch, Jose, Klopp, all working together and we still wouldn’t win the league.

Frugality is the real problem at ownership level and I believe it’s high time that new ambitious owners, or at the very least major investors, are allowed into the club to take us forward. It’s all well and good getting rid of Harry, Poch, Jose etc, but there’s a theme year after year and its becoming plain to see that the problems are not solely at managerial level.

=====

Ozil has the 4th highest number of assists in Arsenal's history, created the 2nd most chances in the league during his time in the Prem, won 4 FA Cups and was the highest-profile signing we'd ever made.

Granted things didn't end well, but to call him a 'joke of a player' is very disrespectful to someone who still achieved a lot with us. The most decorated player post-Highbury.

And I was one of his biggest critics.

It's typical that after years and years of saying "investment will come - the stadium needs to come first, balance the books and then Spurs can spend like the big boys"... the first major "big club mentality" investment the club made was in a washed-up, overpaid has-been of a manager

Did all the hard work to get the infrastructure in place and then flubbed the first big call

We've spent on transfers the last two seasons

FFS boys you've just built a massive great stadium and don't have any fans in at the moment. You think you can really justify spending millions on transfers?

I've been flying this flag for ages, over 10 years, although I'm giving them more of a reprieve this time round. With recent transfer windows they have shown a bit more ambition, and love Jose or loathe him, to get someone with his CV does show a level of ambition and I wouldn't have imagined we'd ever have got him, but it's misguided ambition because he is clearly past his best now.

Same but I am giving them a break this season as they did provide a decent window for Jose. Still think they should of bought a top centre back, but our transfer dealings were a lot better this summer, but I have been ENIC out for a long time. Give Mourinho the season like a keep saying.

not great on the whole though in terms of squad balance, but well enough.

takes years to recover from not signing anyone in a whole summer though 3 years ago, criminal that was.

Another prime example, how could I forget this. Aren’t we the only club in Premier League history, to have gone an entire summer transfer window without signing a single player? This speaks volumes of our owners.

I think they've done generally well the last few windows. Could have done more but with so much to do it could only be done in steps. Still a lot more to do however, and that doesn't include potentially having to replace key players.

Yeh definitely last summer mate and both of us are the biggest Levy /ENIC critics, but I couldn’t complain last summer, as I felt they did well. Wasn’t a 10/10 window , but was a very good one. Down to Jose now to do the business. I’m giving him until end of season like I keep saying.

Totally agree, I`ve been saying it for years, these owners will take us nowhere and line their own pockets in the process.

Signings like Doherty and Hart tells you their level of ambition, and appointing an outdated coach who does not know how to get the best out his squad just tops it off.
