Yet another drab performance, and it’s been a common theme under Ole for two years now. Obviously squad issues cause us problems, but that’s not really excuse for two years of playing insipid football for the most part.
Results haven’t been bad, but it’s team a that relies too much on moments of inspiration from some of the talented players we have in the squad, rather than playing as flowing attacking team.
We don’t play football with much tempo, flair or endeavour. Don’t get enough men running off the ball or getting into the box. Look uncomfortable when under pressure whilst trying to circulate the ball and play out from the back.
I get that it’s not as painful as the days of Moyes, LVG and Mourinho - particularly on our best days - but we have a lot of performances that have been similar to the shiiiiiiit we served up under them as well.
Forget results for a second, what are people seeing that makes them want to persist with a manager that talks a good game, but hasn’t really delivered on his promise of bringing back the United Way?
Do People Really Enjoy Our Style?

Fack off.
Plump, I fear you may be right. The club just lacks proactivity. They continually wait for managers to fail before acting, rather than seeing the issues and addressing them before things fall apart.
Nothing represents this better than Jose Mourinho’s time at the club. It was evident to many after the Sevilla defeat that things would go off the rails the following season. Then his behaviour in pre season all but confirmed it.
But the stupid cuuuuunts had given him a new contract, and then waited until our season was almost completely facked before sacking him.
It really does amaze me how absolutely clueless these charlatans are.

I sometimes think people like Mourinho might sometimes have contract clauses that allow them to unilaterally activate contract renewals or improvements if certain milestones are achieved, and that they decide to activate them if and when it suits.
It's otherwise hard to understand the timing of some of those improvements/extensions.

I doubt it, he signed it in January of his second season. We were going pretty well in the league, even though miles behind City. I don’t think there would have been any clauses achieved at that stage for an automatic contract renewal.

I thought it was later in the season than that.
I don't know what milestones they might be. But Mourinho does seem to hold a strange kind of power over his bosses.

He’s got a silver tongue. I do remember Mourinho talking about things needing to be a longer process to get to the top back then. I imagine he’d convinced Woodward of that (tbf he was actually right) which is why they extended his contracted, to show some confidence in him and give him more time to build the side up to title challengers.
But it was daft, every man and his dog knew what was coming the next season. Apart from the facking club.

He also seemed to have the same level of trust from Perez. Which is crazy considering how much of a he was from pretty much day 1.

He’s always been a really charming bloke. I imagine he could take you out for dinner and you’d come away liking him.
Then you look at what he’s won in his career and I can get why he’s managed to convince these higher ups to have such trust in him.
I think he probably has a harder time charming a squad of players into buying in what he wants from them. I think that’s where he’s lost his sparkle. I think the Madrid job made him doubt himself.

Madrid player power!
True that, he didn't seem to have a problem winning his players over before then.

The Madrid players obviously heard the phrase Mourinho delenda est.
