He's hardly going to say our last remaining senior CB is out for the season the day before we sign two defenders on deadline day.

I assume one will start with either fab or hendo

Kabak and Fabinho will likely be our first choice pairing.

matip needs a pay as you play only contract.

He'd have only played a handful of games if he was "fully fit" for the rest of the season anyway. It would have been nice to see Matip - Kabak as the CB pairing though in terms of two natural CB's, but I actually think Fabinho is better than Matip.

Matip is a top class player. He isn’t slow, he gives his all in every game. He deserves far more support than he appears to be getting on this site.

Klopp was very nice about matip who put his body on the line for the cause.
