We won! I know, I'm as shocked as you are!!
After what has been a difficult 2021 so far, United picked up a crucial three points in the Highlands and the importance of that win can't be underestimated. If we had lost that game we would have been within two points of County and four points away from the play-off place. As it stands we're now eight points away from it and that gives us a vital bit of breathing space.
We're not out of the woods yet though, although we're starting to see a bit of light between the branches. I suspect we're two, possibly three wins away from safety with ten games left to play. However we have a challenging run of games coming up - Livingston, Rangers, Killie, Aberdeen and Celtic complete our pre-split season and I don't see too many points in that run. Killie away is the big one for me and one we have to target for a win. If we get the three points there then we *should* be ok.
I didn't see the game but listened on the radio. By all accounts we deserved the three points and Shankland could and should have scored earlier in the chance. It's the mark of a good striker though to keep coming back and he took his goal very well. A fantastic counter. And I was delighted for Edwards to get his second goal in two games. Hopefully the big man continues in this form.
A much more positive Monday morning for the Arabs.

Said last week 2 wins should be enough for you, 1 more and that will be enough mate.
I had you down as 2-1 so a goal conceded would have been helpful

I had us down as getting beat
It's still too tight for me to get comfortable, and who knows what'll happen to Killie when they get a new manager in. All the teams are as bad as each other so all are capable of putting a couple of wins together, and our fixtures don't help.
Still tense about it.

It was actually an entertaining game for a change, both teams had decent chances but we looked better overall. The move for our first goal was excellent, and Shankland’s touch and finish was top class. There were big performances all over the pitch and the team looked like they knew what the “plan” was for the game.
As you said, our run of pre split fixtures is really tough, but if we keep playing like that I’m confident we’ll actually give teams a game now!

It's amazing what happens when you play a relatively balanced team rather than a tombola.
I hope Mellon learns from this.
