Surveying the remains of what is Liverpools so called super squad I realised that Michael Edwards for some weird reason is lauded as a master talent finder but if you break it down to the bones he is just another Daniel Levy, gets top buck for average british players but in terms of scouting , they go for the obvious targets and in some cases steal scouting information. No patch on David Dein in his pomp.Got me thinking the Top 5 best Transfers in PL History.
Qualifying Criteria = The transfer must have come out of nowhere and the player instantly becomes world class
1. Cristiano Ronaldo
2. Patrick Vieira
3. David Silva
4. Luis Suarez
5. N’Golo Kante

Origi. Was absolute crap before he joined, has been absolute crap since he joined but won the PL and CL, with two iconic goals, TAA corner against Barca and T-Rex arms knocking it off the crossbar for Origi to tap in, against Everton. World class.
OK I've got nothing.

Mahrez for £450k is a great signing. 17 PL goals in the title winning season. Sold to City for £60m.

Leicester & Southampton pretty much lead the way in this. Limited resources but manage to find huge talents for bargain prices.
